I live up here in NW Colorado but my bike is currently sitting at my folks in Deming, NM.  I hauled it down there earlier this winter so I could ride it while down there visiting and hunting.  I am headed down there again the middle of March and I may be able to stick around and help out with the AZ to ABQ portion of the relay.  With any luck, I can help out down south and then get in on the relay again when it comes through CO!

Depending on what the ABQ and AZ guys want to do, I was kicking around the idea of meeting at Safford or points east of there near the AZ/NM border.  From there I could head NE towards ABQ via the back roads.  A meet near Deming would pretty much require Interstate travel.   Any word from the ABQ or other NM riders?

This is the route I was looking at http://g.co/maps/jb2px
I live about a mile from the point A
Honestly, that might be a 2 day trip for me on the cb350f, which I wouldn't mind at all, I doubt the wife would either.

I think there will be enough of us that we won't have a problem handing off when we're tired and want to turn back.   ;)

Too bad this isn't syncing with the Arizona Bike thing-a-ma-bob they do in April.  I would have ridden it right in with all of you from JT

Justin in TX has had communications with Greg in SF, and mentioned a possible meet-up in Tucumcari....
How about a meet-up with the AZ riders around Buckhorn? Would that work for you, Heff?

Buckhorn, eh?  Is there something cool there or did you just pick the first town in NM?  But ya, I think thats doable.

I thought of Buckhorn, since it sounds like proto will maybe be taking 180 to 78, or 12. If that's the case, you could meet him somewhere it that area, instead of going all the way to Deming, and then back-tracking the next day. Looks like it's just over 200 miles to Buckhorn, so if you decide to make it a two day ride, you could continue on with him towards ABQ for a hundred miles, then return home the next day. The total miles for you would be the same as if you went to Deming and back. Just throwing out ideas... ;)

I've only done the Payson route, so I can't imagine what lies between here and Buckhorn, or Demming for that matter.  That sounds like a pretty decent plan.

Here's my tentative route, then... http://g.co/maps/w8ths

We could meet in Buckhorn, then the next day we could ride North with the NM group and split off at highway 12 and 180 to head back toward AZ.

Thanks for checking in, angel. Hopefully proto will get GZ up to you in ABQ. What is your preferred route to Santa Rosa? Are you planning on shooting straight east on I-40, or looping up through Santa Fe and maybe meeting with riders there?

Hi, Scottly.  I don't know Angeldeville's route, but he has said he will meet me in Santa Rosa ;D  Greg in Santa Fe is the only rider there who shows interest in the relay.  Last, I heard from Greg, he is still undecided and a maybe for the relay.  If Greg gives me a yes or no I will post.

Hello KC,

He's leaving Oakland on 3/22...  You need to look at the first message of this thread for the schedule.

Hope you can make it.

Kcbarsos, Welcome aboard! The plan lately is to leave Oakland early on the 23rd and stop for the night in Morrow Bay or Pismo. I don't have an exact route out of the Bay Area- It will depend on where other riders want to join up. Stay tuned and we'll get the details ironed out. You're coming from San Jose eh?

Sounds perfect! Leave your sister to spend quality time with the gf while you hit the road with GZ! ;)
