yes, im in san jose. my sister is coming to stay with my gf and i for that weekend. she gets in friday (23rd) evening.....  :'(    stupid family
Sounds perfect! Leave your sister to spend quality time with the gf while you hit the road with GZ! ;)

And if your sister and gf could pick up my gf in Walnut Creek and drive her to SFO airport on the 25th then they could talk smack about us for a few hours about how we ditched them to go riding haha.

I can only take one day off of work so it's either
a)leave Oakland with Geminimtrs and overnight in Morro Bay before heading home, or
b)ride from Oakland to Palmdale on Saturday, overnight in Joshua tree Sunday and head home Monday

Option "a" means I can be home to drive gf to the airport, and keep the peace.
Option "b" means more HONDA time, meet/greet riders, and another cup of that delicious APE break room coffee

decisions, decisions........ :-\

Give me..a frame to build a bike on, and my imagination will build upon that frame

Hi Scondon:  Speaking selfishly I would love you to go with plan B as first and foremost I would love to see you again and secondly I am terrified FatMatt is going to leave me in the dust the entire way from Palmdale to JT.  :) Speaking as a woman it is important to take girlfriends (if you want them to stay girlfriends) to the airport...However, flowers and dinner tend to cancel airport slights.

What does everyone think about making Palmdale/Willow Springs the rendezvous point on Saturday evening 3-24, and scratching Joshua Tree?

Hi, all!  Things are finally really coming together!  I am trying to set it up where gregimotis from Santa Fe and his k1 750 will be meeting angeldeville and his '76 750 F at Clines Corners, NM.  Then together, the two guys will  ride down 40 to meet me in Santa Rosa where the plans are to eat together somewhere, take photos together that will post on the forum, all of us sign the sohc four banner that accompanies Godzilla, and sign the official sohc four Godzilla log book.  After all that, I might even ride a half hour back west with the guys just for fun, before I head back to Texas.

Hi, again everybody.  Any chance we could get Godzilla to Albuq. New Mexico by sunset on Fri. 3-30 or Sat. 3-31?

If you go a couple pages back, you'll see we'd already arranged for me (and others?) to ride on the weekend.

If i can get to NM on Sat, GZ could probably be there Sun nite.

I was really hoping my wife could ride along, thats only possible on Sat or Sun.  We'd have 2 bikes that way, just in case ;)

We 'could' kick it off a day earlier, but lots of folks are only available on the weekend.

I'm confused (which is not unusual).  Scratch JT? Where would the hand off be for the Arizona riders?

Justin,

The Route 66 diner in Santa Rosa would be an awesome place for pictures! It's still original and has 50's era cars too. It's on 66 running parallel to I-40.
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

Hey, Heff!  That's all cool, sorry I missed the travel plans a few pages back.  Albq. Sun. night is fine.  When would you want to handoff to Angeldeville in Albq?  Sunday night, or 1st thing Monday morning.  This is wishful thinking, but Heff, I wish your gang could travel another 117 miles to the diner in Santa Rosa that Jerry described in the above post.  It would seem if that pipe dream happened, we could have a nice group for food and pictures at the diner in Santa Rosa.  I will be there with my k2 750, gregimotis with his k1 750, and angeldeville with his '76 750 F.  Will there be more riders than just you and your wife going to Albq?  Drat, weekends are too short!  I wish they were longer, Heff, so we could all meet up at the diner in Santa Rosa.  Please, tell me about your tentative handoff plans to angeldeville in Albq.

I think I'll actually be handing off to Proto in South NM, probably near Buckhorn.  All the way up to ABQ is a helluva long ride for me on the 350f.  That would be pushing me and the bike a little too much, I think.  ABQ is a 900mi round trip for me.  I wouldn't get that done in a weekend on the 350f, I can pretty much guarantee you that.  I'm already making 2 days of it, one day out to NM, and probably a longer day on the way back if we take the long route.  So, I'd hand off Sat nite or Sun mornin, maybe ride out a bit with Proto Sunday morning, so you'll want to chat with Proto and Angel about that.

Wish I could make it to ABQ/SantaFe area, I've lived in Santa Fe and wouldn't mind visiting again.

Heff, how would you feel about continuing on to Reserve, after meeting proto ? That would be about 250 miles for you on Saturday. Then proto would only have just over 200 miles to go to ABQ Sunday morning, and it would knock 50 miles off your return trip.

Re: Reserve  :)
I think I might need to wait till that day.  Honestly, I've done a lot of mileage per day, but never on the 350.  Most was probably 150.
Had also thought that if the first day was grueling, then we might go back the same way we came out.

But... Knowing me, I'll probably want to ride to TX.   ;D

I figure 250-300 miles a day, on back roads, is a good day's ride. I'm even thinking of joining you, at least for part of the way, depending on how the 600 mile round trip to CA goes.... ;)

You aren't the guy with the cafe seat made from diamond-plate aluminum, are you??!! Hey, 2 or three layers of carpet padding and some duct tape can make a decent temporary seat cushion! ;D
