Hey where are we supposed to post the rides?  Under this link or the "We're underway" link?  Anyone know?  Does it matter?
Lisa, post your ride log on the "underway" thread, so heffay and the others still planning don't have to wade through so much stuff....

sscardefield... in order to force my wife to go to class so she doesn't flunk out of grad school, I guess we should do this on Friday evening or Thursday afternoon.  she has a class tomorrow evening at 5pm, but would totally skip it just to hang out with motorcycle peeps.  i can't let that happen because she has used all of her available absences for that class already.

so, I'd rather Thursday night, but I'd also like to meet laup too... I'm gonna leave it up to you and laup, just realize that I won't be home on Friday till 5:30 or 6 and I'll be trying to get ready for the trip the next morning... basically, I think our hang time will suffer, but if you guys wanna do Friday, I can deal with that.

Lemme know and sorry for the wishywashyness

not since the last we spoke of on here, i don't think... i'm not concerned though, he came to tucson from NM over the weekend and is probably just enjoying his vacay and making his way back to NM slowly but surely... was just thinking about PMing him though.

we are pretty set in our plans via PM, so we should be all good

Now that is a shame. I wanted to make it there next year.  Oh well guess I will just go to Tombstone and Jerome...

Checking in.

Made it to Tucson and back without any problems with the old bike!  Confidence level is way up for the big trip this weekend.

Heffay and I are on board for our meet Saturday.  Justin from TX and I are set for our meet on Sunday.

Neither of us has heard from angeldeville in ABQ.  If we have no contact with him by Friday, Justin and I will make the meet in Tatum, NM.

Hey Proto!  Give me a call when you can to nail down a time and a place to eat in Tatum, when we meet on Sunday afternoon.  Talking SOHC fours is always better while eating! ;D

Hi, all!  The handoff with Proto in Tatum, NM went great!  Proto, I had fun!  Proto, myself, and gregimotis are going to try to get together sometime this summer around Santa Fe, NM for a NM SOHC four mountain ride!  I trailered my bike because my wife and three year old son wanted to come.  My son posed on my cb 750 for some pictures, the bike will be his when he gets old enough.  My cb 750 got Godzilla safely to my home in Littlefield, TX, a ride of 95 miles.  I had a enjoyable ride.  The wind was blowing pretty good for a half hour and then died down some.  My 40 year old cb 750 performed flawlessly and got 42 mpg going 65-70 mph.  Godzilla and I will leave early Friday morning for the 350 mile ride to Austin, TX.  The Texas SOHC four will be doing our annual hill country Texas ride around Austin's beautiful backroads.  At Austin, Godzilla will be handed off to find a new home on a different SOHC four and continue his journey around the world.  That is all for now.

Thanks for the update, Justin. The wind was pretty bad last year, as I recall. ;)
Hope you have a great ride!!!!

Proto is holed up for the night in Lovington, NM.  Had a great visit with Justin from TX.  Another friend made.  Tried posting some pics on the Underway forum, but can't get it to work using this motel wi-fi.  Will try again tomorrow from Deming.

373 GZ.2 miles today!!

As Proto said, he will soon be posting photos of the NM, TX handoff.  I want to say hats off and a big thank you to Scottly, Heffay, and Proto!  These guys all rode some serious miles in less than ideal weather conditions and set their buns on some hard seats, especially Heffay's seat!  Thanks, Scottly, for all your hard work and congrats on a very successfull southwestern leg of the relay!  Heffay, you've got a true "iron ass" riding your cafe 350 four that far, I am happy your "baby four ran well!"  Proto, you were a rookie this year to the relay, but performed like a true relay veteran!  You carried NM!  Thanks for your big contribution to the 2012 relay!

Agreed on all accounts!  Proto's been doin' serious miles for the last 3 weeks, all over NM and AZ!  I couldn't have done it without my horse saddle gel seat addition, or Elizabeth there as moral support!  Both of our bikes ran flawlessly which makes me soooooo happy.   :) :)

I'd also like to thank Sscadefield and jj_tooney for playing the middle men, there's always gotta be some of those too!  Proto and I were discussing driving/riding in Phoenix, its a life threatening decision every time and I just don't do it!

Enjoy the ride, Justin!
