The Farmer will not be rushed ok! Iron ass riding is tough on a man. speaking of ass mine still hurts from that seat. the last section of 71 really was driving me crazy. pulled that blue thing out and just left the doggy bed it was much better. It was nice not to have so much wieght on the shoulders this year it was way funner. I wonder if the other teams have his much fun? Becasue we #$%*ing raged this year on and off the bikes.

I do not know how you made it period!

I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

I had a REALLY great time.  Lots of fun, lots of laughs, lots of windy roads, lots of fast riding and a time I will not forget!

Loaded up!

Meet-up at that BBQ place with Tom, Chris and Robynn

A few campground shots

Some road shots

Shot the tappet adjuster through the tappet cover.  We got that fixed and it was fixed darn fast too!  Ran about 14 miles at 4000rpm @ 50mph.  Surprising the damage (if any) was minimal.  Bike runs great.

Tappet cover donor bike

Shop in Fredricksburg.  Scootique Rocks!  They had some great looking vintage bikes in there too!

Group Photo.  Robynn, The Architects honey, took this group photo.  Great gal and does fantastic artwork too!

(Left to Right) Tom (motocyconomad), Rick (Me), Justin (jburrell, Whata-Farmer), Steve (Stev-0), Chris (The Architect), Joe (CBGhia)

On the way home, i shot this short video from my iPhone (poor quality, sorry) of The Architect on his Ducati.

I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

I was more negligent than usual in my photo taking.  But here are some shots I got.

The Houston group preparing to embark on our mission.

Meeting the rest of Texas at Smokey J's BBQ outside of Austin - second year in a row.  Can this be considered a tradition, yet?

Rick's CB750, Steve's CB550, Tom's CB750, Joe's CB550, Robynn's KLR and my Monster. Meeting up outside of Austin for our weekend of Hill Country riding. My CB750 wan't able to make it, this time.

Ready to ride the Hill Country, Lago Vista to Marble Falls to Fredericksburg and beyond.

Pre-ride caffeination.

Robynn, at a scenic overlook of the Lake.  Not a SOHC/4, but I think we'll end up building her a CB550.  She really likes Joe's excellent machine.  Plus, chicks who ride, rock.

Hey, Woody --

What's your current plan?  Since the get-together is Friday, the rest of us Houston riders were thinking it would be good to ride leisurely starting Saturday, camping maybe Saturday night, then more riding Sunday.  This would give us Monday-workers more time to enjoy some south-coast riding before having to head home.  If you can't leave 'til Sunday, maybe we can meet you along your route, heading one direction or the other, and still get some riding in together.

No can do on Saturday. I have a prior commitment that afternoon. I will leave the Clear Lake area at 6 AM Sunday and ride to the Anahuac exit off IH 10. At Anahuac I go east on 65, connect to 73 off of 124 and work my way to Sabine. Will catch the ferry off 82 and continue east on 82 in Louisiana. I'll hang along the coast following 82 into Abbeville. I meet Hope at 2PM in Lafayette at the Crazy 'Bout Crawfish in Breaux Bridge.  Link to: http://www.yelp.com/biz/crazy-bout-crawfish-breaux-bridge
Not sure where you were camping or how far you guys intended to ride but would suggest the ferry at Sabing Pass. If not there, what would you suggest?

I am riding my friend Georges bike my bike is down and Georges health wont let him go so he was nice enough to let me run his bike to pick up Godzilla it the only SOHC running out of here right now so hats off to him.
We rode up 290 left about 11am stopped and ate lunch at Jimbos in Hockley,TX. we met Steve,Rick,Joe at the same place as last year. We follow them down Lime Creek rode a twisty techincal beast of a road Joe and Steve on the 550 tearing it up I stayed up for a little but long day of riding and a full pack on my back made it more work than fun. One swooping chi-cane to a hard left caught me missing my down shift from 3rd to 2nd I pulled tight in the middle of the apex but touched the front tire to the center line paint. I felt it slip, sat up to correct but I was out of room and out into the strait drifting to the edge stood the bike up,clutch in and brakes, touched a little section of cement gutter then dirt screwed on the gas kicking up an piece of some dead cars plastic back up onto the road and popping back on the strait road myself with an inaudibale screaming and balls sucked into my body. Song of the Sausage Creature type #$%*. very lucky, very scary, by now no one was behind me and Joe and Steve way ahead I got to them pulled over and managed to calm down that was scary #$%*. But nothing was damaged so its ok. it was funny how steve was so fast at the start but then after this he twisted his throttle tube right off and wound up the slowest. That made me laugh most of the way back to camp. Him and Joe are animales of the apex and super skilled fast riders. true two wheel speed freaks. super fun.

steve-o(steve) and Really?(Rick)

the meet spot

Steve-O and The Achitect(Chris)

my sleep spot

Godzilla party...he doesnt stop. Magaritas and Mexican food Godzilla rised hell after back at camp

next day (sat. 4-7-12) coffe stop was closed but we lucked out caught the owner feeding the cats she made strong coffe quickly
we fueled up and took off to meet Justin the Iron rider Farmer Animal in Marble Falls a nice mellow high speed curvey road

the hand off and we all took off for Freddricksberg along more high speed twisty roads

we stop before a section of dirt road Godzilla points out the blown out tappet

we head off slow for 3 miles of dirt then onto a 1 and a half lane cool country road that smelled like wildflowers, passing fat cows mellowley scooting up to Freddricksberg we got told that we are sworn to secercy about that little section of paved farmroad

we make it to the Ace hardware in Freddricksberg Joe (CBGia) starts to work on the solution this is the guy you want to have on a long ride Joe is awsome. I went to the gas station for a cold beer, asked if they had a morotcycle shop in the town the kid told me a place called "Scootique" was the only one Joe found them on the phone called and they said come over they had 20min till close. We all road over they found the parts in the back those poeple are the nicest coolest motorcycle shop ever. They Really save the day and Really's motor. By now it was late so we headed back stopping to look and a huge granite rock formation in the mystic Texas hill country. "Enchanted Rock" I need to go back to camp there.

that night we all go out for beers at a nice local spot near camp.

Buck Moth catapiller got me on the throttle hand, he Godzilla's 5th cousine by marriage he was pissed he couldn't go with me so he crawled up the shoulder strap of my back pack when I set it down and nailed the part of my hand I would feel the most between my thumb and pointer burning stinging and a little nausea

Godzilla ready to go to Houston on Georges bike. He said he didnt care that my ass hurt that the dog bed is all I need and stop being such a wimp.

He wanted to hit Lime Creek road again as we are heading out. He said maybe being all rested we could get through it without the Song of the Sausage Creature incedent when I rode it last time. We did good, he shot a little movie of a small section and how loud Georges horn is at the end.

Godzilla wanted to drink the two beers in my backpack after the good ride on lime creek and check out the old cars and the 78 blinged out GL1000 at this place.

after that we hauled ass back to Houston as fast as the law and wind would let us. that seat was really hurting that last section of 71 we stopped looking to eat but it was closed I had to laydown on the pavment in the shade of a big sign my ass is hurting I throw away the blue pad under the doggy bed that I bought in Marble Falls and it feels much better. I-10 is smoother pavement but still I feel every little bump.

we stopped in Sealy and ate at Tony's Restaurant it was good and we felt better got gas and hauled ass.

Godzilla is at the SOHC sanctuary of Houston he'll be working on 750 motors with Chris and George getting ready for his friday party. We where all ready to chill out and see our dogs wash up get ready for monday and the rest of the week.

She did paint it by hand.  She said she has about 100 hours in the paint, but she does that #$%* for a living!  Here are a few examples, if she doesn't mind me posting.  She really is an incredible artist!  I got to see some of that stuff up close when I crashed there last year.  Way cool.

I'm glad everyone likes Robynn's stuff.  You can see more on her website:  http://www.robynnsanders.com

And she adds work-in-progress photos to her Facebook often, if you wanna check out what she's working on:  http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1440771722

Along with art cars (more than 10!) and murals, she's done helmets and plans to do some more gas tanks, soon.  It's pretty much all commissioned work, so if you're looking for something unique on something you've got . . . .

Just heard from Farm Animal, he made it home safely a couple hours ago.
He's sitting at home in the dark, a storm knocked his electric out.

I got the handoff from Proto in Tatum, NM, and I rode the 95 miles home.  I rented out my spare bedroom to GZ until Friday.  This is where my story gets interesting.  I had wanted to leave my home Thursday morning, but due to work left my home Friday at 7:30 pm for 9 hours of straight riding and 380 miles!  I had to really suck it up and just get er done because Steve and the other guys were counting on me to hand off to them at 11 am Sat morning!  I had a really great and pleasant night ride with no problems.  I had a blast, which is surprising because I don't usually like night riding!  I checked into my motel in Marble Falls, TX at 4 am and handed off in the motel parking lot to Tom at 11 am.  I stuck around though and road those great twisty, hilly roads (approximately 175 miles worth) with the Texas sohc guys.  Then we all camped together.  All of us guys just had a blast!  Steve took us riding down some really good roads!  On Sunday we broke camp, and everyone headed home.  My 415 mile ride home went very well except for the one hour I had to ride in pouring rain which really wasn't a bad experience because I put on my rain suit just before the rain started.  Total relay miles for me this year was 1,065 miles.  I am an official member of the "1,000 MILE IRON ASS CLUB" two years in a row now!  Last year, I said it but I will say it again, "Thank you Mr. Honda for making such a great bike!"  For two years in a row on the relay my bike has run like a racehorse and consistently gotten 40+ miles per gallon.  75 mph down Texas I-20 was no problem even with some wind and a lot of heavy camping gear.  The strength and reliability of a cb 750 just keeps on amazing me!  My forty year old bike hasn't even stumbled once during it's two years in the relay!  Kinda funny, but at one gas station I gassed up and hit the starter, she roared to life as usual in well less than one second.  The guy beside me at the next pump was done gassing when I was.  He was riding an almost new looking goldwing.  I smiled to myself, after he mounted his ride and cranked for what seemed to be like 2 minutes when until the wing finally came to life!  Gee, a 40 year old Honda and a almost new Honda, never would have guessed who would start easier! ;D  See everybody next year!

Had a blast with you guys, see you at the Harvest Classic in Oct if not before
