motogp live
« on: February 11, 2012, 11:48:07 PM »
hi - does anybody on here subscribe to motogp live on the net? I want to know if it also includes the moto2 and 3, as well as gp.
Been thinking about joining up - I have heard that the tv station (oneHD) here that runs it is going to drop it next year, and anyway, our local commentators just give me the squirts. >:(
And then I need to work out how to connect the laptop to the tv so I can watch on the big screen.
Yes, I am a bit of a dinosaur....

Peter.

Yep.. For the past couple of years I have paid to see MotoGP on the net, and I think it’s been great. Not only do you get the smaller classes as well, but also do you get to see all practice, qualifying, warm-up runs and interviews  as well. That amounts to maybe 15 hours of racing each race weekend (More hours than I can handle anyway). One more good thing about it, is that if race Sunday presents perfectly good riding weather for yourself, you just wait and log on to see the race when it rains on Monday...    :)
One drawback though, is that only the race itself has been transmitted in HD (Maybe they have changed this for 2012). All in all I think it has been totally worth it. The second season I subscribed I even got a discount as returning customer. Not this year though. They even raised the price for 2012..   >:( I haven’t joined up yet for this season, but I’m pretty sure I will. By the way, the first race of the season is the night run at Qatar, which is a fantastic race to watch with all the floodlights lighting up the track. - And this year could prove even more exiting as several riders have switched bikes, and also they are going from 800 to 1000 cc…
If you’ve got HDMI connections on your PC and your TV, then you’re all set to watch it on the big screen.

the bbc have the motogp race live and show the moto2 and moto3 races later , you can get this for free on their iplayer . the bbc commentators are not great mind
the best coverage is Eurosport , they have every practice session , every qualifying session and every race . the british commentary is pretty good . the one thing the bbc does better is the after race interviews etc not just the podium guys they normally have a few interesting people to interview . its going to be a great season so get yourself sorted !

If you get a proxy server you can watch it on BBC iplayer which gives you all the moto gp and the formula one for 8 dollars per month.
Foxy Proxy is the one I used. Look up the concept.

What they do here is have the Brit commentators, who are quite good, but the lead up and then during the course of the race, and after the ad breaks!! >:( have the local guys chipping in with their comments and reviews and normally at the cost of missing something important in the race.
How many times can you tolerate being caught up in the race and then cut to an ad to find that on return to the broadcast X has passed Y and Z has crashed.....and some knob sits there with this silly grin on his face telling you all about it..... ::) Squirts indeed!  ;D
And then the channel is apparently going to be dropping it all together next year, and we will have nothing anyway.

I will investigate the BBC set up and compare to the motogp website. I'm guessing eurosport is pay tv?
