Dog leg levers
« on: February 03, 2012, 01:11:43 PM »
Anybody know where to get dog-leg levers for CB750? I have a old Namura brake lever on my K2, but do not have a matching clutch lever.

Well, I've looked high and low, no dice. I'm going to take the lever in tomorrow and backwards engineer the brake, and make a matching clutch lever. 6061, with a bronze bushing, or a roller bearing if I can fit one. Any interest? I have to run them in batches for best pricing. This is not a ad and will not be done for profit, I make test fixtures for the semiconductor industry for a living, not motorcycle parts.

Edit, forgot to add pic:

I'm using a Yamaha R1 clutch lever & perch and it works great.

Been searching, have not seen any yet. Can you link me? I'll buy all of them. LOL
Edit: I searched CB750 Magura, and this is all I got.

if you are not running bone stock, I used to do this, I run w/o estart.
Get a 72 or earlier rt side swith assembly..use the starter button for the horn, it has hi-lo-off for the lights, use the mc to hold the mirror,

I studied the design of the lever pivot, it has shortcomings, there is ways to overcome that but a bit more work.
You can bolt a piece to the lever to add support. top or bottom, then run a bolt with a longer shoulder section, to make lever less prone to sidfe movement.. if this added piece is on top and bolted over the clutch  cable end blind (from top) hole, then you can remove the fastener to oil pivot end.

Another method is to make a forked pivot end on the lever, and run longer shoulder bolt, that would double the surface  area of the pivot and last much longer..

 We need an improved version...

I had a dog leg clutch lever on my CB400F and replaced it with stock.  Don't know if it'll work, but you can have it for postage.

Are you looking for something like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/Honda-CB750K-70-78-GP-Clutch-Lever-/150666848398?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item231471a88e

I want those.....now to find them near home. I have short fingers so these are great for me.
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

Sweet! Thats close enough for me, Flanders seems to have both sides in stock new. Not forged like the Maguras, but they'll work (not like I plan on dropping eoither bike anyway, LOL). Thanks guys.
