Relay Map reflects updated (proposed) dates:

http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=101662.0

Turns out some of the dates were out of sequence, and I fixed the fact that ALL of the dates fell on WEDNESDAY...

All of the dates on the map now fall on Saturday, which meant backing up the dates by four days. Look it over and let me know what you think!

GZ is on his way, Gents!!  Are we ready? Do you want me to attempt to coordinate again this year or would local support make more sense?  Several ON riders plus Operator are in.  What say you in QC?  Any NS want in on this?

Warning: dates on calendar are closer than they appear!!

Lefty has pretty much hit his marks on schedule so far.  Prolly time for us to start to firm up routes.

At this point, Team Michigan is planning to bring Lefty to Lake Simcoe via Sault St Marie and Sudbury.  Since there aren't any Quebec riders and since Operator had to drop, I'm thinking a crossing back to the US at Niagara. Or would something closer to Montreal work better?

Now is the time to make this ride our own!

What do ya say Ontario, can ya help your Michigan brotheren out with some routes and ideas on places to crash... Er... Sleep?

(From the Michigan 2012 thread)
I'm down to try to get around lake Huron...but I can see that being tough if there are no Canadian riders to help with good routes and sites...and couches to crash on...

Yea, yer right, we gotta start thinking about this.  I'm good for meeting you guys at Lake Simcoe, but where we go next, I have no clue.  I seem to remember we got Orange 550 in Windsor, Larecords in Ottawa, Bikecrazy somewhere in SE Ont & Bowswell in Mtl.  Big chunks of territory & thin coverage, me thinks.  I'm open to any ideas, & I can offer a place to crash if we come down my way, I can also probably arrange a crash/camp spot up on the east side of Lake Simcoe, if needed.

Hey Eastern Canada!

Lefty is in Michigan and is headed ur way!

I'm still trying to flesh out the details, but the most probable handoffs would be Lake Simcoe on the 11th or Mosports on the 18th. If anyone wants to cross over into the Detroit/Port Huron area and ride along or take the handoff there, I'm sure we can accommodate.

If anyone has a sofa of back yard for a weary SOHC4 to camp out, that would be AWESOME!

We are also supposted to have Orange550 outa Windsor signed up too, let's find out if he's still interested, I know he did a 2000 miler earlier this summer & Bike_Crazy somewhere in ON as well.  Larecords, a lot of territory between me & you, any ideas?  Oldschool, I got couches in Pickering, camping at Mosport & will work on getting something around Lake Simcoe, let's see how it will play out..

Thanks Larecords!  Thanks Bruce!

From what I can see, we'll have no trouble getting GZ to Detroit &/or Port Huron. But we're short on anyone who can cross the river. Hopefully Orange or another Ontarian can cross over. Else we may need to fire up a ChrisCraft rum runner and cross GZ over gangster style!  (just kidding, Mr border guard!!)

You don't sound too sure about the 'round the Huron rip now Bruce, guess we have to consider a plan "B".  I will PM Orange & Bike Crazy to see if they are still in, I know Larry's hot to go.

Yea, the Huron Rip is looking pretty doubtful. We've got plenty of riders, but not many that have the time or the documents to go international.

In terms of trying to get GZ through New England, do we have someone who can get through to the Boston area?

I know that Andy, myself and a few other New England guys are heading out to Newburgh, NY for the Cannonball Run starting at Motorcyclepedia. We'll be heading out that way on Thursday Sept. 6th through the 8th. By the "schedule" mapped out in one of the planning threads, our schedule seems to put Team New England a bit behind in terms of timing, but I figured I'd throw an option out there...

If we could somehow catch GZ when we leave Boston, we could transfer the beast off to someone down there.

So looks like Lefty will be here this week, come on Ontario, time to step up to the plate!

Larry, I will be working out what day this week I can get GZ.  I will also be at Mosport this Saturday.

Tintop or bwaller, you guys wanna take him for a ride on the track?  Then we have to figure out how to get him to Larecords (Ottawa) & boswell (MTL).  Larry, I will be in the Kingston/Perth area on the Labour Day weekend, still a few weeks away, or catch a ride after Mosport with Tintop to Kingston or bwaller to MTL area??  Just throwing out ideas, let me know what could work.

Awesome  :D

Lizard pick up tomorrow in Windsor from Artsqu & then to Mosport on Saturday for the vintages races.  Maybe a little vintage wine on Saturday night when he will be the 3rd star at a buddy's 40th wedding anniversary/65th birthday do, hope he doesn't upstage the bride & behaves himself  ;D ;D I know, fat chance of that as I experienced his brother last year.

So Larry, how can we do the hand off? Shall we ask Tintop (Brian) to take him back to Kingston after the weekend? or Brent (bwaller) to Quebec? Or I can ride him  up to Perth on Sept 1 or my preference Sept 2?  We've also got bowswell signed up in MTL to, but he's gotta chime in ASAP.  What are you thinking, Larry?

Why not?  I'll fix that for you when we meetup for the handoff to Larry, it was a little busy at Mosport  ;).  Speaking of the next GZ Lefty hand off, Larry, Tintop & I are thinking about a meet up with you in Perth on Sunday Sept 2, know any good spots in that town?
