I'm going to have to limit any participation to the US side as I don't have a passport and I won't be able to get one in time for the ride. It's just as well though as I don't think a week long ride is in the cards for me this year anyway.

Since my '72 is wrecked, I've decided to get the '73 up and running.  Hope to get all the bugs worked out in time to participate.

I had just put the stock exhaust on that I got from Sean Barney.  Took it out for a run down the freeway at 70 mph and blew the front tire.

Anybody headed to Rockerbox in Milwaukee this Saturday?  Lefty is ours for the taking if we can get there!  Once in hand, we can finalize plans for a dip into Ohio. the Huron Rip and the handoff to Team Ontario.

If Sean is not going as planned let me know. I am planning to go, and while it won't be on a SOHC4 (it might not even be a Motorcycle as I might drive my MG), I can still arrange to pick up Lefty Saturday and bring him up to K-Zoo on Sunday.

So Lefty is not yet in Michigan's hot little hands  :(  bummer.  I will be in the Lake Simcoe area next Saturday and at the Mosport Vintage races the following Sat (18th).  I can probably get him a ride on Tintop's new rig (with a GoPro too!) or maybe bwaller's  race beauty, or both, that would be awesome!!  Any chance of that happening Bruce? or is it way too soon?

Danny,

I don't know if Sean is in or out for Rockerbox.  If he can't make it, then yes, please give Lefty a lift!  I'd rather see him in the company of a member rather that Team Brown no matter the mode of transport.

Bruce,

No, he isn't in our hands yet.  Between Sean and Danny, we should have him on the West side of the lower peninsula on Sunday. Getting him to Simcoe the following weekend (8/11) seems ambitious, particularly since I don't know yet who, if anyone, can make the Rip Around Lake Huron.

So the following weekend (8/18) won't work for you to be at Simcoe, eh?  You, Bwaller and Tintop will all be at Bowmanville?  That's East of Toronto on the Lake Erie shore, eh?  Sure would be a GREAT opportunity for a forum meetup!

What say you Wolverines, can we make it to Lake Simcoe a week from Saturday, be it direct or via the Sault?  Would anyone wana do a ride to meet some of our Canadian Brothers and watch some vintage racing at Mosport?

Plenty of options, what do ya wana do?

FYI the Mosport track is a great venue about 1 hour from Lake Simcoe or Toronto, camping is available on site too.
Hope that helps, would be awesome for an SOHC4 meet up.  It's all vintage racing with the VRRA & the CVMG always runs a Concours judging with around 60 or so rare & beautiful vintage bikes on Saturday.  I had a blast last year & love the sidecars & 250cc class racing, those guys ride the crap out of the bikes, many previous national roadracers are involved too, so great to watch, not to forget our SOHC members Tintop & Bwaller in the mix too.  ;D I hope to get in on the "Parade Laps" on Sunday when you can run the track on your own bike, whohooo.

ok that decides it...Danny let's meet up Saturdat morning, following a GL or an MG makes little difference other than a couple wheels...

Sean and Danny,

I'd love to do that trip with you guys, but I have a field trip on Sunday (Marching Band to summer Band Camp).  You guys have a safe trip and say hey to lefty for me.

Bruce,

I've got to go and pickup the Marching Band from Band Camp next Friday.  I'll be be back to driving Bus fairly regular after that, but will be free on weekends (Fri-Sun).  I'd like to join in at some point, but probably won't make the whole thing.

Godzilla is in OUR hands!  Well... in Sean's hands...

http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=105119.msg1244183

Thank You Sean for riding to Rockerbox to get the little bugger!  And Thank You Danny for offering to back Sean up.  Next stop, GingerMan Raceway in South Haven to cheer on Team Cycle-X!  That is if Sean can make it to South Haven in time for Sunday's race.  Weather on this side of the pond looking a bit scary!

Time we make some SERIOUS plans on how we're going to get Lefty to Team Ontario.  I'm not hearing much noise for doing the Lake Huron Rip.  Other options would be to get GZ to Brooze at Lake Simcoe next Saturday (8/11) or to Mosport the following Saturday (8/18).  Another option might be to get GZ to maybe Bwaller (near Buffalo, I think).  I haven't talked to Bwaller about it or to any of the Ohio/Penn riders to see if they can help out.  GZ would need to be in Bwaller's hands before he leaves to race at Mosport.  That'll mean either next weekend or weekday riding.

Let me know what you wana do!
