Ok Wolverines! (and Spartans, Broncos, Chips, Lakers, Wildcats, Huskies, Eagles, Blue Devils, Britons, Bulldogs, Cardinals, Chargers, Comets, Cougars, Crusaders, Flying Dutchman, Golden Eagles, Golden Grizzlies, Hornets, Knights, Lions, Mustangs, Panthers, Saints, Scots, Tigers, Timberwolves, Titans, Warriors, Wolves, etc) who wants to coordinate this thing?  Anyone?

It's already been suggested that since GZ 2.0 will be coming from Ohio this year, that we should plan for a ride up the East side of the state. And since Ontario is the next handoff, perhaps an "Around Lake Huron" ride is in the cards.

Discuss.
Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

Relay Map reflects updated (proposed) dates:

http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=101662.0

Turns out some of the dates were out of sequence, and I fixed the fact that ALL of the dates fell on WEDNESDAY...

All of the dates on the map now fall on Saturday, which meant backing up the dates by four days. Look it over and let me know what you think!

GZ 2.0 is on the move! His bags are packed, next stop Oakland, CA, where he will hook up with lead-off rider geminimotors!

Here's a preflight photo-op, ready to go:

and here GZ 2.0 shares a tender moment with his bro before heading out:

Mad's route shows GZ 2.0 coming to Michigan via Ohio. So we'll prolly run North along Lake Huron, cross the Bridge into Yooper Land, cross into ONtario at the Sault, then head to where ever y'all wana meet up.

Just spitballing this, lot of ideas need to be listened to before final routes are set.

Here's a plan, just to get things off the ground - a 5-day rip around Lake Huron.

Far from set in stone, and lacking plans to get GZ2.0 from Ohio.  Also lacking plans for the Ontario handoff (maybe around lake Simcoe?)

I did a check and, if you don't already have a passport or enhanced license, the enhanced license is prolly the cheaper route.

Just tell em customs dudes you're one of GZ's relatives :D, that'll work  :o :o

OldSchool, yer map is cool & there will be some great riding!  Lake Simcoe area hand off would work fine for me, we'll have to see what other ON riders are interested & how we can work them in.  Orange550 in Windsor expressed interest in joining, other than that, there's only Larecords, Bowswell & Operator to the east.  Mad's circles didn't seem to include any east coast, but it's still early days...

hey Brooze!

Yea, it's a bit early yet. Coverage is light so far. I'm hoping we can get more riders, maybe even include NS this year.  I also seem to remember someone in the Lake Simcoe area last year. If they are still around, maybe they wana meet us at the Sault crossing and make a few days of it.  And any ON riders that wana ride around Lake Huron are more than welcome to join in the Michigan leg!

Well, looks like when I renew my license this year I'm going with an enhanced one!

Now it's all about getting the preparations done now so that I can go for the whole ride this year.

Hey Dave!

Still too early to make firm plans.  Let's see how well the first few regions do with the original spitball schedule and work from there.

In the meantime, if you know of anything we gotta see on the proposed route or know of a campground worth staying at, feel free to post it.  And if you also plan to ride into Canada and don't have a passport or enhanced drivers license, now would be a good time to take care of those details.

So far, Lefty has hit his marks on schedule. Looks like we need to start to firm up plans.

Does a rip around Lake Huron still look desirable to the group?  Plan B might be to cross at Port Huron if we don't wana ride all the way around. Just putting that idea out there.

It's most likely that Lefty will be coming up from Toledo this year. We may need a rider or three to meet up with MasterChief for the handoff a few days before the rest of Team Michigan gets their kick stands up.

So far there are no riders in Quebec and the lone New Brunswick rider had to drop. It's looking like Niagara may be the US re-entry point. Lefty might ride to Cleveland after that or maybe handed off to Team Mid-Atlantic. I mention this just in case any of y'all wana add Lake Erie to your loop.
