I checked with BWaller.  And found out he is 6 hours East of Buffalo. More like Montreal area and on the Canadian side of the boarder. If anyone wants to carry GZ all that way, then GREAT!  But unless Team Central or Team New England can help out, I think riding to Bwaller's is out.

So that leaves direct to Simcoe this weekend or the full Huron Rip (with Simcoe on Saturday) this weekend or direct to Mosport on the 18th. Last resort would be Team Brown.

Any thoughts?  Any Canadians got any suggestions?

... been following.
Looks like ya'll are avoiding Detroit this year. ???
Although it's looking less and less likely ... (I'm still looking though) I'm hoping to find a time and spot to jump in for the ride.

Not avoiding at all!  I'd actually like to see the East Siders meet up with the West Siders in Hell!

(dramatic pause so anyone not familiar with Hell, Michigan can re-read that sentence)

I just don't know if Hell would be a hand-off or just a stoping point during a much bigger ride.

Sean,

Since the planning for the next ride isn't done yet, go ahead and create a new topic under Team Michigan called "2012 Ride Reports" or what ever.

Post a link to it back here too!

I can get Godzilla to Detroit, Port Huron...and am really looking forward to NOT having to ride by myself...but I have failed to procure legal means of a border crossing, how long does it take to get that enhanced drivers license?   I really can't afford much more than 2 days on the road at this point.  DJ AX, do you want to go to Canada?  Also, I have a big party at my shop on the 18th and I really should be there.  I feel like we need to get together with MJ and Dave for sure as they are the other two Michigan guys that have posted...maybe we need to hit people up with some pms since this has all come up actually sooner than anticipated?

Here's the details on getting an enhanced license if you are already a licensed driver and are over 18:

http://www.michigan.gov/sos/0,4670,7-127-1627_8669_53333-213045--,00.html

Trouble is, it takes 2-3 weeks.

Just checked on the enhanced license (I don't have one either) ... takes a few weeks for them to mail it to you.
I'd be happy to run right up to the bridge but I can't cross it :(
I think I'd be able to come out to that side of the state and back :)
Times will matter though... I can get Thursday night, Friday, and the weekend off.

Here is where I'm at:

Had to renew my licence this month anyway, so I did the enhanced, cost me $90 with enhanced on top of my CDL.  Won't get it for a couple of weeks tho.  It'll be there for next year at least.

Friday the 10th, I have to pickup the Marching Band from Band Camp near Oxford.  I should be back by 2pm.  Then I'll be free til Monday the 13th when I'll be picking up Middle School kids for a Jump Start program.

I've got to get the carbs rebuilt for the '73, been running on the '72's carbs.  Got two of them tore down and cleaned already, two more to go.  Got the kits the other day, so I should be good to go by Thursday at the latest.  Might even transfer the Pamco over to the '73 as well.

I think I'll have to put off getting that Vindicator II fairing from Dave until after Lefty has left us.  I did get a headlight assembly for it though.

I've got a passport, but don't have the time or a SOHC4 that I trust to go that distance.

Good job Sean in getting GZ here in Michigan. I have been watching that lizard breathe fire and travel through the midwest and finally he's here to wreck more havoc. I guess its time to see where he will go from here. My mount is having a beauty treatment to include feet, nails, hair and an overall check up for the next phase of this lizards journey. I hope that this beauty treatment will ensure that I won't get burned up by GZ as I accompany him. My bike will be ready this Thursday. I will be watching the post for further information on GZ's movement.

No final route yet, DJ. Its really up to the riders on the road. If you have an idea, speak up and see if it'll fly!

Ok, Michigan has an Anchor Rider to take GZ into Ontario (Thanks Artee!!).  I'm working with Brooze and the rest of Team Ontario on dates and locations. But it does look like Lake Simcoe this weekend is out.

Just spoke with Artee, he's hoping to be able to ride during the week next week. Just need to:
A: get GZ to the East side
2: thru as many riders as possible
c: ending with Lefty in Artee's hands
IV: have a GREAT TIME doing it!

If you want a piece of this, now is the time to speak up and help plan it!!

I'm open for the most part. I do have an obligation on Saturday, but I can probably get that covered if need be. And it looks like I'll be able to open some weekdays next week if I need to.
All we need  now is the next destination time and place. :)
