All right everybody the first leg of the Michigan leg will be leaving my shop in Kalamazoo at 6 or so, and arriving at Dark Horse Brewery  in Marshall around 7pm.

Update!

No field trip on Friday, they only need two buses to bring the Marching Band home and I got the short end of the stick. ;D

If my carb work goes well tomorrow, then I'm in!

Big other doings Saturday afternoon, but I will stay tuned in to your travels.

I've never been to the Dark Horse but I hear it is great.

I know Dave wants in.  Hey Dave, what would make for a good East side weekend ride??

Hey Artee, are you planning to do any tours on Michigan soil next week before crossing the river?

Construction report for Friday nite:

I-69 one lane closure north of Marshal, consider old US-27 from Olivet to Dark Horse
M-99 single lane closure in Albion
M-50 closure in Jackson
I-94 ramp & shoulder closed east of Jackson
M-52 single lane closure in Chelsea
M-14 lane shift AA to Plymouth
I-94 single lane closure Yipsi to Belleville
I-275 airport to Plymouth, just say no!

Dark Horse,
511 S Kalamazoo Ave
Marshall, MI 49068

Marshall has a large round about with a fountain in the middle. Dark Horse is about a half mile south of the round about, next to the railroad tracks. The rap room is behind a convenience store called Whacky's. There is a tattoo shop and DH's General Store across the parking lot. There is also a V-Twin repair shop there too. So yea, you can expect to see a few HD riders all decked out in their finest pirate costumes.

Dark Horse can get pretty busy. If rain drives people out of the beer garden, then it can get pretty tight inside. I think you'll find that the beer and the food are worth it tho!  If anyone can get there early and grab a door (many of their tables are old doors), please get one for about 6 peeps. Or more if we get more riders stepping up!

See y'all there!!

A few states and provinces have already been skipped, so no big deal if this can't be done, but Ohio hasn't been touched yet. Unfortunately MasterChief (Toledo) isn't able to help out in time for the relay.

I dunno DJ, I was thinking about heading back east your way, but didn't consider the fact that it would be in the dark.  Maybe it would be better to go to my place for the night, only about an hour's ride but in the wrong direction.  I got couches, spare bedroom, cots, big backyard...room for all.  I'm open to others ideas too.

Sean,

Would it make a difference if you got an earlier start?  I can try to get out of work earlier, but can't promise. Do what ya gota do to ride safe. I can catch up to ya at Dark Horse all be it late.

FYI, sunset in Ann Arbor will be 8:44 on Friday

Oh and...talked to Dave the Welder on the phone tonight...sounds like he is pretty busy this weekend, but might have some time to ride saturday night.  He also suggested doing a loop of the thumb for saturday's ride.  I thought about dipping down to put Ohio on the map but Dave suggested he might be able to pick up Ohio if he can pick Godzilla back up after Canada in Syracuse.  So anyway, we got options...Artsqu, please check in on when I can meet you for the handoff either Saturday or Sunday and Dave wants to ride with ya on your way to Canada, so get ahold of him

Good news, I got the carbs rebuilt.

Bad news, they're not on the bike yet.  With all the rain today I just couldn't get it done.  Hopefully tomorrow will be better.  If I can get it done in the morning, I'll still be able to join in tomorrow evening.  Otherwise it will be Saturday.
