Shipping service..
« on: February 05, 2012, 04:17:21 AM »
I wasn't sure where to post this but can anyone, or has anyone, used a specific transport service they would recommend?

I'm shopping for an F-2 and found one 1500 miles from me. Would be cheaper to ship here than going to pick up.

Thanks..

U-Ship estimates $488.00. Not to bad really.

You couldn't do a rountrip to pickup for that price unless you were driving a PRIUS, but then it won't pull a trailer very well.

If that bike is East of you, or on the way back from NY, call this guy: Larry @ B&B Shipping 209 495 3729.  He's coming back from NY in the next few days, and I bet you can get a pretty good deal from him.  He's Carpy's guy, and he's bringing up my turbo 550 project next week when he gets back to LA.

Boy, that would work but the time frame is to tight. I would have to wait untill a cashiers check cleared. Probably 10 days or so. Soonest would be end of month.

Dang, that might have worked! Anbody close to St. Louis?

Well, I'm sure that isn't close. I have it posted now on U-Ship so will see if anything happens.

I can't buy the bike untill Wednesday, then 3 days to for the check to arrive and another 10 for it to clear. Dang, cashiers checks used to be good as cash.

This Country has gone to sh**!

Toy,

I've used uship a few times, been happy with them. My shipper is based in TX, so that probably won't work.
I've used Bank of America cashiers checks, tell the seller to go there and cash it, he can get cash in hand immediately.

Grrrrrrr....

If the time frame was wider it would work. Well, I'll see tomorrow. Might stop at the bank and ask them. I just closed an account I had of BofA.

OK, first shipping quote is in. I'll modify this page as they progress and avoid a long thread.

From zip 63010 to 86442

1) 647.60 (expires 02/08)
2) 531.33 (expires 02/08)

Hoping to get under $500.00. Now that the game is over I should see some more activity.

Oh good!  He'll be back sooner than I thought.  Is he picking it up for you?  Definitely a nice guy to deal with.
