Battery relocation
« on: February 05, 2012, 04:49:19 PM »
I have just started my first cafe racer project with a 1972 CB450 in good condition. Want to relocate the battery under the seat cowl to give a nice clean look. Not great with electrical stuff. How involved is relocating the battery? Will the stock wire harness reach or do I need new wires etc? I do not have turn signals, horn, or use the electric starter. I'm looking for some direction or just a good idea of how much work I'm looking at before I start tearing into things.

Hi Kilroy3,

And Welcome to the forum!  Lots of great information here and many people who are willing to help.  I haven't done this myself, but I will point you to a very cool post another member who also has a CB450.  I really like how he did the battery holder under the seat.

Electrics aren't too bad so long as you take things slow one step at a time.  Making sure everything is clean and you have good grounds goes a long way.
