Oil buzzer
« on: January 29, 2012, 10:18:02 AM »
I am planning on hooking my turn buzzer into my oil light circuit. It would be kinda cool also because if you forget to turn your key off it would continue to buzz. And when you start your bike it would go on for a sec kinda like a new bike or car. And obviously go off when there is low oil pressure. I think that would be nice because I don't look down too often. Any thoughts from you guys?

After you get it to work. Mount it under the seat cover up front ;D ;D That will get your attention.

I used to do that decades ago. When turning on the ignition key the buzzer starts screaming and people may think you're about to start a diesel engine. Warning: you will not hear the buzzer over the riding wind at cruising speeds.

Well I did it and it was pretty easy. I might mount it in the back seat for my wife lol. We will see if it stays hooked up it might get annoying. It's kinda louder than I thought. Thanks Guys for your input!!

The first thing I thought was, "That'd annoy the crap outta me", I only had a turn signal buzzer on one bike, my CB750F that I bought new back in the day, and it stayed connected for all of a week before I decided I couldn't stand it any more. But if you like it, I think you should install a set of air horns and connect it to them, and make sure you put your helmet on before you start your bike, you'll need it! Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

the little truck i drive at work has an external reversing beeper we had to put fibrous adhesive tape over to tone it down,,it was the beeper from hell!,,trouble is it also has a quieter one factory fitted behind the dash in the cab some where,,i cant bloody find it,i even brought a decent flash light in from home and had the beeper activated, the fuse stops both of them so thats not an option, its fkcing annoying,,ill kill it one day when i get my hands on it,you can always hook you oil switch to your ignition,so itll take a bit of a crank to fire up but kill the engine if the oil pressure goes nil, lots of late cars have this wired to the fuel pump,,i dont like it,the idea is in a crash the fuel pump stops so long as the engine stalls.

wire a resister in series with the fuse to reduce the voltage to the beepers.

come to think of it my dads 80s something bmw had something like this. very annoying until he started it. guess it gets your attention. guess he would be able to hear a low oil presure warning since he could hear his  radio  while riding.
