I am relatively new to the PNW and the sunrise over the cascades is always breathtaking,I love it here. :)

That farmhouse goes back generations of the same family in which great grandad schroeder built that barn as well as several others like it in the area.There used to be cows,for generations,now there isnt any due to 'new'small farm zoning and land laws.Friggin politicians destroying the liveliehood of countless families.

 Hey I lived in Chilliwack one winter and had my 73 750 with me.. rode the heckoutit all over the place, you can easily ride most of the year..

 Just reading yesterday that near you they are taking the waste from a large dairy, burning it and cenerating power for 300 homes.. Also they add outdated beer to the cows diet, bet the cows like that ..lol.

 Cool place to live, but you got to get used to rain-riding..

How about a PNW Ride?

Give it a few months to warm up, but I've had many hours of killer fun tooling around the Fraser Valley by-roads... by myself. It would be cool to have other Honda guys to ride with.

Yes when I lived in the L.A. area I missed the seasons, the proper mountains, the trees, growing up in West Vancouver on the slopes of Holyburn they were there all the time and when I finally came back to the Great White North it was coming home. Now of course I haven't been back in 40+ years but I still miss it.

I spent 8 years stationed out on Whidbey Island, WA. In all those years there happened to be 1 that didn't have rain for 181 days, I think 1985. I took my kids up on Mt. Baker in June and they played in the snow. You'll get used to the rain, most times it's like mist.. Some real beautiful country , in the summer ride down to Mt. Vernon, WA the go out to Whidbey Isl. , when you cross Deception Pass Bridge , it is BREATH TAKING!!

Great post BB.  Born and raised in the PNW and I love it, except the short "rain free riding season".  Looking forward to a great 2012 with many rides.  You need to hook up for the isle of vashon this year.  It is epic!

I'm in but probably on the Triumph - the Honda won't be done for this summer.  I'm in Chilliwack.

I'm up for a bunch of rides this year.Missed vashon twice,this year I'm not going to miss it.I sorted all my problems with the bike,Although its a bit rich,its leak free,runs great,I'm ready.Now if only I had time.

Sounds good.I told the wife this year I am doing as much Moto stuff I can.She can go to mexico with the kid while I have the week to myself:)All I have left to do is sinc the carbs with a gauge set(I have one,just lazy)Once a year to mexico is enough for me(spent new years there)

Born and raised in Seattle as well. This time of year gets a bit trying but there is no better place on the planet then the PNW in the summer time. If you're into boats ( I currently have 2) then the San Juan Islands are paradise. If you like the desert then eastern Washington is your ticket. If you like mountains we have some awesome ranges. If you like cool cities, Seattle, Portland, and Vancouver BC all have their own flavor. We even have Ocean beaches. And lots and lots of nice curvey state hiways with fantastic destinations and viewpoints. I just wish we had more vintage bike round-ups and swap meets. We do have Backfire Moto nights every third wednesday through out the summer at the Two-bit Saloon in Ballard.

Yup. 2 hours (max) in any direction will give you a completely different environmental experience.

Mountains, ocean, rainforest, high desert, urban sprawl, major rivers, turn of the (previous) century rural Americana.....

And all of it stunning.

Aw, Tacoma isn't as bad as it used to be. It hardly smells at all any more! And I think they stopped filming "COPS" out in Spanaway a while back. ::)
I have relatives in Wenatchee too, Yeah Washington has a wide variety of terrain all in the same state.

Funny you mention COPS, my neighbor used to be a videographer for the show back in the 80's Pierce County's hay day for crime. Naw tacoma is getting really nice. I'm loving what they did to the water front. There's been a rivalry between Tacoma and Seattle dating back 150 years ever since Seattle landed the railroad terminus thast Tacoma thought was in the bag.

I want to go to Backfire,alweays had but just cant do the 1.5 hour drive after work just to turn around and drive back.Bellingham doesnt have anything like it.We have Motomonday,1st mon of the month we meet,but nothing like Backfire.

Come down in June when there's lots of daylight and get yourself a cheap motel room out on Aurora Ave, then head home first thing in the morning. At 5 am traffic will be going the other way, you could be back in B'ham in time for work.
