Fuel tank latch recall
« on: February 07, 2012, 07:30:29 pm »
I was thinking...since the fuel tank latch was a safety recall, I should be able to get my latch-less tank into the dealership for a free replacement lock, right?  ;D

Not any more as it wasn't a recall as such just from a certain date(thanks Mr Nader) the original was no longer supplied and there were two versions of the early type, the very original you did not have to push the cap down to disengage the latch, this was modifiedfrom K1- 1055209 onwards
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).

I'm not so sure, I know on my cb360 there was a recall for it.  I called my dealership to see if they could do the cam chain fix, and they said they didn't have the ability, but they would swap on the new latch for free, if they could find one...  I didn't take them up on it, as I'm fond of my keyless latch.
