Very rare collectable bikes stolen - Cyclone and Kawi
« on: February 07, 2012, 06:51:56 PM »
 Feb 5, 2012:
"BEL AIR, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Police are searching for a pair of thieves who broke into a Bel Air home in the middle of the night, tied up the home owner and made off with two valuable motorcycles. That home invasion robbery took place about 4:30 a.m. in the 900 block of Linda Flora Drive. Police said the suspects kicked in the front door and tied up the man, a longtime collector of vintage cars and motorcycles. The man's wife was able to get away and went to a neighbor's house to call police. Police said the suspects knew exactly what they were after. They went straight for the two vintage motorcycles valued at more than $1.5 million.

And now that they have them what the hell can do with them to turn a real profit? Too bad for the couple that got robbed and thankful they survived to rethink theyre at home firearm placement. Thieves need a hole in the head.

Wow what a shame, and yes if the home owners didn't know their invaders, one of their friends or aqantances does. I saw a bike exactly like that Cyclone in a book my wife got me for Christmas .....Motorcycle Dream Garages. It's a great book with some great stories attached to them. An excellent read.

No problem selling them on the black market.  Some private collectors have no shame when it comes to receiving the unobtainium . There's always a buyer for the very rare .  Yea, thieves should be tied up in a room and the victim given a nice hard wood bat !

the chances are someone wanted to buy it from him and when he said no he hired it done all for his own selfishness

there was a ferrari race car no too long ago that showed up stolen from its owner in the 60's he had to go to court to get it back from the daughter of the guy that stole it and last I heard he still had not gotten it back
when you own a motorcycle the wife does not have to find you handy she just has to find you

Nah, that Cyclone was appraised incorrectly. It didn't have the original wrinkle tank...  :)

That's really too bad, but at least they weren't hurt. People should really look into some higher security doors and metal door frames or at least that door jamb armor stuff, especially if they have 1.5 million worth of collectible bikes inside.

Not worth dealing with unless you have Arnold standing at the door.

I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.
