I'm a new member to the forum from Steubenville, OH, which is about 30 minutes west of Pittsburgh, PA. I got my first bike at the beginning of the year, a 1974 CB550 and after finding out that it needed a lot of work to get into riding shape I bought my second bike, a 1977 CB550. I am a very cautious rider, I'm rarely in a hurry to get anywhere when I'm on my bike. I used to drive an exciter 250 when I first got my license 20 years ago and drove dirtbikes when I was a kid, but I forgot how much I missed it until I started riding again. I have my 74 in enough parts right now that I could ship it in boxes, so I am here pretty often trying to find helpful tips and tricks. I'm usually in my garage with a clymer book in one hand, a haynes book on my bench, and a wrench in my other hand. I find I like working on bikes nearly as much as driving them. Though not a grease monkey per se, I am an engineer and spend a lot of time working on machines, so hopefully it will be a fairly smooth transition to motorcycle repair/restoration. I have already been able to have mechanics do welding and machining work for me so that always helps.
