Value of 750
« on: February 09, 2012, 02:35:46 PM »
So locally I picked up a 1974 Honda CB750. This thing has been owned by the same guy for 25 years, is red in color and looks pretty damn good. Runs, starts, drives and has a clean title.

Looks very much like this, except it has 2, 2-in-1 exhausts:

What am I looking at for value?

What am I looking at for value?

Why? Are you looking to flip it or do you feel you paid too much?

The value to you is what you paid for it.

I think what Nomad means is the 74 wasn't offered in red, maybe 75 or up? Check your neck tag.

The CB750K4 Four was sold in 1974 and was available in one of three colors: Flake Sunrise Orange, Freedom Green Metallic, or Boss Maroon Metallic.
The CB750K5 Four was sold in 1975 and was available in one of two colors: Planet Blue Metallic or Flake Apricot Red.
Check the neck tag for a month/year and that will give you some idea.

I bought this last year for 2k. I didnt haggle though because its just not in me. Also this is in socal so the price is a little inflated. Ran really well. Started fine, idled, had new tires and chain, which doesnt mean much but w/e.

A little inflated? It's ridiculous.

I have been shopping over there for quite a while. Decided I can buy one in the Midwest and ship it to me for less.  ;)

LOL, yea i honestly think as far as socal goes it was a bit on the lower side, considering the condition and mileage. But i see what others on here pay and it is ridiculous.

I sell them, fully rebuilt, for between $3500 and $6000.

Take in consideration that you are in the midwest. Much lower resale compared to SOCAL, texas, florida.... All the good areas to ride year round..... I would keep her if I was you.

edit!!!! Sorry thought the first bike was her.

I have a maroon K4, that is not it. Looks like that bike has been repainted.

It's worth $2-3k, depending on how good a salesman you are.

Now the real question, how much did you pay??  Guessing a thousand, that would be a good deal.
