750 K7 stock needle position
« on: February 27, 2012, 01:21:19 AM »
Anyone know what the stock needle position is on the 1977 750 K7 (UK model) to give me a base setting?  The bike is being completely rebuilt with new stock exhaust and rebuilt engine.  I am now overhauling the carbs and it's obvious that they have been apart in the past but I don't know if the person messed with the needle position.  The clips are in the top (leanest position) groove on all carbs.  My Honda (genuine) manual has a diagram showing them in the middle position but makes no mention of the position in the write-up.  As I have found inaccuracies in the manual before I don't really trust it!!

On the earlier models, I am pretty sure stock was the middle position.

That could be. I know the 77/78 were made to run lean. They removed the needles with clips from the 78 year.

Thanks for the feedback.  My UK manual says F2D51E-1 as well for the K7 so I will put them back in the top clip position.  That's something else I've learned!
