Topic: anybody use ebay carb rebuild kits??

hey I'm thinking I need to at least get all new needles and seats in the carbs of my 76 550.  It seems like ebay has plenty of people selling aftermarket non OEM kits- have any of you guys used these and been happy with them?  Just looking for those who have any experience with these kits.  I'll just be going with the whole carb rebuild kits that are out there, instead of trying to piece together 4 needles/seats.

I installed 4 Keyster kits on my carbs and as far as I can tell haven't had any problems.

www.loudfastugly.com has the Keyser kits for $17 ea. I bought four. Looks good, fits good, has more than I needed. Got a chain from them, too. Fun guys to deal with.

yep....  my bike is running great on them....  just make sure that you get the shaped/formed gaskets and not the plain circular ones.  it's hard to get the gasket to stay in the little groove after it is exposed to gas.  don't forget that.

One thing to watch is the slide needles. The ones for my 350F looked like they had a slightly different profile than stock, so I cleaned up the originals and reused them. Otherwise no problem.

here, here on that one. My boddy bought some keyster kits for his CB400 Hawk. The needle isn't adjustable, it just has one big washer on the butt end to keep iy in place... that is when the washer keeps itself in place. Roadside surgery with a pocket knife got us home where we cleaned up the stock needles and put them back in.

The Keyster needle for the CB500 has 5 grooves and a new clip...

Still kinda goes to their quality, though.  Not that I wouldn't buy one, but examine it realy close before you install everything.

I used everything but the needles for my 77 CB750F.  Same story, needles in the kit only had one slot.  Otherwise, there were no problems.

Bought a Keyster Kit for my CL70 and one problem that I did have was with the bowl gasket. It was not cut right and leaked. I purchased the gasket kit from Honda and all is well.
