Front End Swap - CB550
« on: October 26, 2011, 10:38:24 AM »
Forum Members:
Does any body know of a direct exchange of the front forks, wheels, brakes etc. for the CB500/4?
The desired result is a wire spoked wheel with dual brake discs/rotors.
I have done this with my 1978 Goldwing (Comstar equiped) by installing a 1977 front end (forks, rotors/discs, speedo drive, wire wheels). A very simple and quick exchange - loosen yoke/triple tree bolts, remove '78 front end, install '77 front end - tighten yoke/triple tree bolts.  I just like wire spoked wheels with dual discs up front !!
Thanks in advance for any advice  or suggestions on accomplishing this change.
Cheers,

550 in title, 500 in text, which is it? If its a 550 the forks are ready to accept another disc.
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.
