RE: First Time Gapping Rings on CB750

This is my first time gaping rings on a CB750.  My bore is the 2nd oversize 63.5mm / 2.5".  From reading other post I know I am to multiply.004 X 2.5 which gives me .1 end gap on my top ring and that is exactly what I have.

Is this correct?  What is an ideal end gap.

Thanks!

You probably meant 0.010." (10 thou) That's a good number but I really don't like anything less than that. Check them all and make sure the ring is square in the bore when you check.

Ring is square in the bore used to piston to push the ring down an inch or so.  Using the feelers I got .011" for the second ring and .010" for the first ring.  So I should be all set no need to gap either of these rings.
