This guy takes himself and his bikes WAY too seriously...

This is too funny.  Talk about somebody being wound way too tight...  ;D  Btw, the video is the same animated "cafe racer" video that's been circulating forever.  I guess he thought he was on to something new.  ::)  Hopefully this guy will get laid soon and relax a bit.  ;D

For all you copy cat wannabees!

The Legend of the Cafe Racer

Make it more uncomfortable and less ridable! Get some fake cafe racer clubman bars, lose the seat for a board covered in vinyl, take off that rear fender and mount the license plate on the side like the Harleys do! I'm sure you know more about bike building than the designers and engineers that built it.

You're a wannabee of a bunch of copy-cats, English guys who copied Grand Prix racers in the 1960's with BRITISH and European bikes, not cheap 1970s Japanese copies. There were No Japanese bikes in England going round the cafes at this time.

And the Members Only jackets were never cool, even when new! The only guys wearing them were sleezy, Middle Eastern / Eastern Bloc, disco types like your Dad.

You're not a biker, just a posuer wannabee trying to be cool but, just trying makes you look stupid to the rest of the motorcyclists who know better.

If you want to see real copy cat cafe racers, watch a film called Leather Boys. See if you can find any Jap bikes in that film.

Cheers!

actually, I find that video hilarious...and that craigslist ad makes some real good points...just gotta remember that 1970's cafe bikes don't have much to do with some kinda sub-culture, greaser style/rocker bullcrap...it's all about taking a bike and modifying it for better handling/performance...
If it works good, it looks good...

Funny, but times change,of course your not going to jap bikes in 1950's England,Duh,Just because the whole 'cafe'thing started there doesnt mean people elsewhere werent doing it as well.Ace cafe is not the mecca.if someone wants to personalize their bike,go for it.I think the whole checkered stripe,59,ton up ,is a bit played, but that doesnt mean the 'new'cafe racers are not legit.Whoever did this needs to get a hobby. The Jap bikes took over because they were BETTER,a bit heavier sure, but generally better engineered. The brits are so touchy over this.Purists as well,if its not 100% stock it has no credability.Sheesh, give me a break.
its better to regret something you have done, than something you havent.Except playing with explosives.
