Left-over wires in my headlight bucket ('76 750F)
« on: February 13, 2012, 02:15:52 PM »
Just finished putting my front-end back together and have been hooking the wires up inside the headlight. I have three wires which have no mates:

Brown (f)
Brown/Blue (m)
Green/Red (f)

Now the Brown/Blue would have gone to my turn buzzer (which I've removed). What are the other two? I seem to remember that there was an extra unused wire in there (for the UK version?) but even if that's the case, what's my extra wire?
If it's worth doing, it's worth doing twice.

Tug... Brown is spare ( city light, Euro spec. ), Brown/Blue is correct for the buzzer and Green/Red is part of the clutch safety circuit OR may be from the N switch ( goes to the N light bulb )....... Good luck  :)
If your sure it's a carb problem; it's ignition,

I believe he is correct about the green/red wire, it comes from your starter solenoid to the light on your "dash" then passes back to you neutral safety switch.
That which does not kill you leaves cool scabs which turn into awesome scars.

That's right! Sorry, I don't have my handlebars on yet and had forgotten about that neutral safety switch. That's it for sure. Thanks fellas!
