Props to my painter ***New Pics 2/25***
« on: February 13, 2012, 08:18:08 AM »
Hey guys just wanted to share the excellent work my painter did on my tank/seat.  His name is Eric Nordquist and he does really nice work with very reasonable prices.  There are no decals here this is all paint.

Very nice indeed.
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

Nice! And a 400F too, haven't seen one done like that before. Do you have a project thread for your bike? Would love to see what you're working on. That seat base is cool too, matches the lines of the tank well. Did you make it yourself?

Hey all thanks for the positive response.  Like I said I'm super happy with the work he did...it looks 10x better in person.  I've received a few PM's about pricing so I figure I'd just let everyone know.  The total cost (just got the bill last night) was 649.35.  That includes the headlight and ring which aren't shown and  the chrome headlight ring and the tank being media blasted at a cost of 97.00.  Had I known his guy was going to charge so much I would have had it done myself, my sandblaster would have done it for about 30  bucks.  Again this has no decals it's all paint and the logo's look totally factory.  Again thanks for all the positive responses and I'll post some pics with the bike back together once I get it there.

Don't kid yourself, you got a decent if not good deal considering the quality of the work.  I was speaking with a salesman at one of the Honda dealers here in Dallas when I noticed quite a few of their bikes were custom painted.   Very good quality, all metallic or pearl finishes.   I asked how much it would be to get that quality of a job on my old tank and side covers. The guy didn't blink and said $1200.   Maybe they've been hanging out with Whitney Houston.

Before I knew that Eric did M/C stuff I hit one of the local guys here that does a lot of Harley stuff and he quoted me 1300 and he was going to use decals.  I didn't get a good deal in the sense that just I paid what Eric charges...he does great work for the money.  Eric has been doing this now for about 2 years, I've got a feeling that his prices are going to start to climb as the demand for his work increases.

The seat is a Dime City Cycles Roadster.  They make a great product.  Very solid with excellent fiberglass work.

Great price indeed. I just got a quote for two hard bags and a Street Glide rear fender for my new Road King. Dealer wanted $1800 and the parts come from Harley already primered. I told him he could stick it! I might have to call this guy. Thanks for the info.

That's a very nice paint job.  ;)  You got a rippin' deal for $650.  Materials for every bike I paint comes to at least 3-400 bux alone.
