  • did you bleed when you built that?
I cut the same center tubes  from a wrecked F model and welded it into a K0. That tells me any sohc 750 frame has the correct center section. I even moved the triangle brace because it was gone too. Go for it.

He had the center section just as it fell out whe he cut it.

  • To many bikes-but lookin' for more
The seat that the gas tank is sitting on is/was a stock 71 seat. Did you find a plastic chain guard yet,if so that's good stuff.

I think this is going to be a hard tail.  The title that came with the pile is for a frame that has been cut but never completed.  I'm going to post some pics of the frame later today.  I've been looking at chopper and bobber hard tail frames and I think it's cut right but I've never modified a bike frame.

Here's a simple sketch of what I have in mind.  I'm going to call it the Hippy Killer.  No frills, straight seat, 16" rear wheel, 19" front, cycle-x oil tank, stock rake, drag bars with a small riser, orange frame, stock orange tank, orange fenders, 70's style pin stripe "hippy killer" on the tank.  Motor details to follow ...

That frame HAS been cut at the wrong place for any of the weld on hardtails you may see on E-BAY but you can rebuild it. It looks to me they were in the process of doing what we in the chopper world calls a KONG job= lowering of the seat rails in the back.

That is a K1 tank in the pic, I bet..faded Candy Garnet Brown..
My eyesalook better now and the kids are gertting over me blinding Ted E. bear, and parting him out...
My K2 came in (soon faded!) Candy Garnet Brown, as did early K3 bikes. Honda couldn't give the color away, probably kept putting it on bikes that were available.

If I were you, I would use the back part of the gold frame to replace/repair the mutilated frame with a title.... Just my opinion. ;)

Thanks Chuck.  My buddy actually called this a Kong frame and I didn't get it.  I'm going for a different look but its nice to know what the original plan may have been.

Fair enough, you're not the first to say that.

*edit*
The consensus with people who don't want to see me make a hard tail is that I should remove the the steering stem and put it on the yellow frame.  I still have a hardtail bar hopping hippy killer in my head.

As far as being usable, yes it would be usable for a hardtail.

Here's the weld-on I got from www.cycleonemanufacturing.com/:

And here it is with the frame after cutting:

Heya,
Did you get this bike built in the end?

Keen to see how it ended up.

Cheers!
