Topic: 1977 CB550K - Pull Cable?

I am currrently restoring a 1977 CB550K.

I bought brand new cables for the bike but the Pull cable I got seems to be too short (not the cable itself but the cable inside the cable; hope this makes sense). The "inside cable" is not long enough to go around the metal "disk" at the carb...

Did I get the wrong cable? Is there a difference in cable size between a 1977 CB550K and other 1977 CB550? What cable should I get?

Yes. You need one for a 77 or 78 K model only.  The F models and all prior years use a different style carb as the PD used on the 77 and 78 K models.

Looks like I got a cb550f cables. I ordered a new pull cable because the F version is too short.

The push cable seems to work but am i wrong thinking that a F model push cable would fit a K model?

Yes.
I thought I explained that.  77K models used PD carbs.  77F models used an earlier style carb.  They use different cables.
