They say acknowledging you have a problem is the first step.
Hi, I'm Dan and I have a SOHC-4 problem.
I sold my 550 last year after a great summer of riding including a week of the Relay Rally and replaced it with a '77 Goldwing, because the long ride proved to me that I want to do more touring.
This winter I picked up a '72 MGB as a winter driver/fun car.
So I already have two old vehicles that require periodic attention (and cash). Does that stop me from wanting another SOHC/4? Like I said at the top, I have a problem, so no.
Today out went two e-mails on SOHC/4's on Craigslist. A '74 550 that is complete and titled but "needs TLC and a clutch cable", and a "1971 Honda Motorcycle" that appears to be a 750 (beveled fins on the head) that the seller says is complete but "the engine does not work". Nothing like detail.
Sigh, I keep reading about the 2012 Rally thinking, I could ride the GL, it's about the ride and the riders, not necessarily the bikes, then I think, damn, I miss my 550. The GL is great, but man it's big (fairing and full bags), I really need a smaller around town bike.
So here we go, it seems inevitable that another SOHC/4 will end up in my sister's garage competing for attention with the GL and MG.
Is there some sort of pill for this?
