Need Some Help Identifying Side Covers
« on: February 14, 2012, 02:01:06 PM »
There is a guy local to me selling some side covers on Craigslist.  He sent me some pics and I noticed that they bolt on.  Not sure if they are Maier or some other manufacturer.  He stated that his bike is a 71 and I have a 74.  He also stated that they were on the bike when he bought it and doesn't really know a whole lot about what parts were original or aftermarket.  I just want to make sure that I am not wasting my time looking at some crap product and I doubt I can get him to come to my to see if they will mock up to my bike.

They are after market but should fit your bike.

Ughh I hate it when a seller wants me to make an offer on parts.  I don't care if the paint is great since I am going to strip and paint it a completely different color.

I know what you mean.  I hate it too when they just can't set a starting price and want you to.  When they do that I give them a ridiculously low price and when they balk at it I tell them that they ask for it and can now tell me what they want.  Start the negotiations from there.
