Trying to install the crimp rings to finish my gauges. I have boogered two new crimp rings from Lecram trying to get these on. The rings are folded over nice on one side and I'm having a heck of a time getting the other side to fold over and crimp around the back side of the gauges. Tries various pliers as well as a vice all protected with tape and whatnot. I can kind of start getting it crimped but it won't fold over nicely to get a good grip on the back of the gauge. With each one eventually it bows out around the side and the gauge body and rings that hold the glass pop out.
I have two more crimp rings before I have to worry about straightening what I have or getting new ones. How do I get these installed to crimp the gauge halves together? It seems using the old ones would be much easier as they are already somewhat bent over in the right spot. They are junky though and I'd prefer to use the new ones. Any advice would be great! All I've found on here is for the cut/glue method and a few for re-crimping original rings.
