Hmmm, don't want to bust ....
« on: May 29, 2006, 09:12:11 AM »
..... balls here, but I'm feeling the need to comment.

This is the Tech forum, where the posts should relate to things SOHC techinical.

Like, "My bike is running like #$%*" or "How to I do this" etc.

We have alot of new members which is great, but there's already enough posts in here without filling the Tech Forum with threads like "How Much is my bike worth?" and "Let's do a group ride" or "How I got off with a warning".....

The Tech forum is reserved for "How To's" and such.

The Open forum is where all other threads belong.

Glenn:  I think we might be able to minimize this by having a direct link to the Open forum from the Tech forum page, and vice versa.  As it is, you have to click on Main Boards > Open Forum if you want to switch forum.  I suspect some folks are posting stuff here in the Tech Forum without even thinking about it.

Anyway, FWIW, My 2 cents, all that.

ride on,

Zeke

I just asked for a measurement. It’s not a tech thing and I don’t ask many questions anyway, but seems the tech board is correct for some questions even if it’s not an technical issue like carbs, I’d probably never get an answer in the wanted board maybe,  :o  but I guess that would be the correct board to ask the question….  but I know what your saying fella  ;) and I agree. But just some times you have to post a question in the place you think you will get the best response.

Hi Biff:

I wasn't referring to your post at all, that's a totally legitimate tech post.

I think that we have alot of new NG (newsgroup) users here, and so I think we should all try to nudge them in the right direction if you know what I mean, before it gets out of hand.

I regularly read and post in about 5 different forums, and if we're too lax then the tech info can become watered down and less enjoyable to browse thru, next thing you know the better contributors aren't posting anymore, and I know we don't want that.

So, all I'm saying is lets keep the Tech forum technical, and talk about anything and everything in the OPEN forum.

out,

Zeke
