I like the wheels, I'm guessing they're Harley Fatboy items? It'd handle like #$%* with those car tyres, but I don't think function is a priority for a lot of "customisers". Cheers, Terry. ;D

Is that the same one Mick? There's another one I've seen that looks much nicer than that one, it may have been built by the same shop, but I'm not sure? Cheers, Terry. ;D

I wish I hadn't looked at the pics Mick, I can see lots of problems with the engineering, and I seriously doubt their "approx 80 BHP" boast, but if I had a couple of weekends with it, I could make it go as well as it looks. Cheers, Terry. ;D

i dont understand the "HR" holden tyres?or is that the cross over with like new and old tech?so good big brakes and #$%*ty tyres?good forks and rear shocks and more power for even extra danger?i still cant get my head around crap tyres for show?

It's taken me many years Dave, to realise that when it comes to "custom" bikes, the look is everything, and performance and safety (and in some cases just getting the thing to start and run properly) are low on the builders list of priorities, or just beyond their abilities. Kinda crappy, but it takes all kinds, I guess..........  ::)

+1 My Buell was never a real couch on wheels, but after making it quite unique it is good for a few miles here and there or else you better find a GREAT chiropractor. It does get a lot of positive looks and comments. In regard to the fatboy rims, they do look awesome but even on a 900lb fatboy they cause "lane drift" with a good gust of wind. I cant imagine how the would feel if the bike was on a significant diet.

I was searching last night for those Terry, they would look good on a well made bobber, i may have to succumb to my dark side and build a small rigid.... :o :o ;D

I like the wrenchmonkee stuff, even the tires and wheels they choose. I think aesthetics are important to a lot of us. If it was all about handling and performance we would all buy modern bikes and junk our old bikes.

Agreed.... ;)   When on 2 wheels, tires are the only thing between you and immanent disaster so why make it easier to get in trouble. There are plenty of tires that don't look like they live on a crotch rocket that are far safer than those things. We are talking tires here so the statement about junking the bike because you couldn't put crap tires on it is a kin to "taking your bat and ball and going home"   ::) Once again, common sense left the room...

Yeah, I think you can still have a fast safe bike with nice aesthetics, (plenty of members here have done it) you just need modicum of intelligence, and putting cross-ply car tires from the 1950's on a bike is pretty dumb. Cheers, Terry. ;D

 They are not car tires they are bike tires made today, too look like thre early versions.. I suspect that if they were truly as terrible as some of you imagine, that the fad would have been over...2 years ago..

 Had a terrible thought.. that some of you "CornerFreaks", built a bobber or a rigid... and actually enjoyed it.... Bet you wouldnt miss the tickets from your go-fast days....

Ha ha, well those "bike" tires wouldn't get past ADR's (Australian Design Rules) for a bike here Frank, but I understand that a few road deaths caused by dodgy tires won't hurt a population 15 times the size of Australia, and Darwin's law should be allowed to cull the terminally stupid anyway, so fair enough.

If you "Boutique Bikers" want to risk life and limb for the sake of looking "cool" while gazing at your own reflection in the windows at your local shopping mall where most of your riding is done I won't stop you, but over here we've got plenty of more challenging roads, so intelligent tire profiles are much more appropriate.  ;)
