Mystery Lines. New Owner

Performing an oil change yesterday I located these lines on the right underside of the bike. 2 are blocked up with screws. What do these lines do and why would they be stopped up?

Of the seven lines/hoses, only one should be blocked - the one from the crankcase breather/oil separator.

The seven lines are:

  • four from the carbs
  • battery vent
  • crankcase breather/oil separator
  • fuel tank overflow

From what I've seen, some crankcase breather/oil separator hoses have a special end that is "molded shut", and squeezed to open.

Bet they are carb overflows........blocked up to keep the gas from coming out due to worn or miss adjusted carbs

Hmmmm. Well when the temperature reaches above the 40 degree mark again this will warrant a further look. Either way learning the art of carb tuning is a necessary reality. Though the bike is running well, its inevitable I'm sure.
