Greetings from Ohio!
« on: February 16, 2012, 12:52:05 PM »
Hello.  I am happy I found this site and it has helped me learn a lot already.  I just purchased a 1976 750 that I will be bringing home this weekend.  Not a perfect bike but it runs great.  The plan is to ride it and find a trashed 550 to turn into a cafe.

I have been riding dirtbikes last few years and haven't had a street bike since my 12y/o son was born.  (VTR Superhawk).  I am anxious to get on the road again.

I am pretty clueless as a mechanic but with plan on going slow and figuring it out as I go.

The last photo is of the first flowers of the year.  I noticed honey bees by the flowers when I was taking the pictures.  Spring is coming and riding season will begin.

Here are some pics of a bike I just picked up today.  I promised my wife I am done buying bikes.  The plan is to ride the 750 for however long it take to get the 550 back into shape.  The bike runs but the battery is toast and it is leaking gas and oil.  I tried to take some pictures of the #s.

The 550 doesn't look too bad!

The photos make it look better than it is.  It needs some work.  The engine sounds good though.

BTW It seems like there is a really big crowd of SOHC fans in Austin.  Do you all hang out?
