Hello, Norway calling - it is winter and time for check out the engine on my 1974 CB 750.

This bike is nice, i love to ride it and in good conditions. But - I want to rebuild the engine with new bearings, cam chain, primary chain, 836 kit, new clutch, valve job, paint the cases, head.

Waiting for some parts, cleaning up parts and going for a good machine.

Hi from Texas!  both of your bikes look very nice. There is an 836 kit on eBay for $110, is that what you plan to use?

Yes, I have bought one and the cylinders are bored, cases paintet this weekend and waithing for som bearings. Orders lots of parts from Cyclex and som parts from David Silver. This is my first engine rebuild and the Hondaman book, this forum and the manual are needed. Alots of good information her.

I need help here, where do this 8 things which came with gasketset from Cyclex go,  I can not find any place to use this.

There have been some progress - the enginecases are back together. New bearings all over, new primary chain, cam chain, rod and crank bearing, 836 kit, new clutch and some more.

When they are used, they go between the cylinder and the head to help stop head gasket oil leaks. Check this service bulletin #42:

Early bikes were built without, later bikes use the seals with a dowel on the oil return studs.
The service bulletin offers an improvement for the early motor. I tried but was unsuccessful getting the modified head gasket kit (12020-300-305) for my K1.
Looks like you have the early block and head.

Update.
The engine back in the frame, with the cheap 836 piston, new camchaine, primary chain, new bearings in gear and rod and crank. It looks good and it was a good feeling when I touch the starterbutton and the engine fire straight up and have the lovely CB750 noise, Just love it, so now I Wait for the spring to drive it carefully.
