SoG 2012
« on: February 20, 2012, 10:34:36 PM »
The annual Sad Old Gits ride headed south this year instead of the usual north to the Pukekohe classic races, once again attended just by the 3 of us Mike (another one), Yamaha RD350LC, my brother Mark on his Yamaha SRX6, and me on the trusty CB750.
We had to ride on some not unpleasant roads such as the Upper Buller Gorge to Murchison, SH 73 Arthur's pass via Lake Brunner to Methven. And the road to Akaroa..

Another enjoyable 4 days riding, except for the shortcut incident that led to only one of us reaching one evening's correct destination...

Here are some photos of our trip:

:-[ Sorry Scunny, we were only in Akaroa 1 night and we were in Christchurch just long enough to visit the RNZAF museum. Next time I'll get my act together and let you know we are coming!  :)

We are planning a Road trip down your way in November. Budy of mine is coming over for a head clearing trip from Hong Kong. He keeps a VF1000R in Christchurch just for these trips.

Great photos.  The posts from the New Zealand leg of the Godzilla tour were light on pix of the countryside, so I am interested to see these.
