CB750F spoke question
« on: February 23, 2012, 12:57:21 PM »
1976 CB750F

I had one bent spoke on my front wheel, so I figured I'd fix it when I had my new front tire installed. At the time, I was unaware that there were two different front spokes, and ordered a single spoke from ebay.

#97451-69246-10 (AS) 8x203mm

My buddy calls from the shop and tells me that the neck of the replacement spoke I gave him is too short and won't make the bend around the hub. When compared to the original spoke, it is indeed a smaller bend and shorter neck.

Come to find out the spoke I think I need is #97B11-69245-10 (BS) 8x202.5mm - for the brake side. Can someone confirm that it has a longer neck than the stainless one above? And does anyone know where I can get just one?!? $120 for the set on ebay, and no singles available.
If it's worth doing, it's worth doing twice.

Its the angle that is important here and the reason why it wont fit correctly. Is the old spoke shown the one that is being replaced? If, so I would be replacing the lot.

It is... actually, it's the worst off of the set. The others cleaned up pretty well. Also, @Spanner1 has an extra wheel he's gonna let me cannibalize, so.... yay!
