I think the Present Owner should shovel that bike out of there...and then ask his $1000.

If the PO comes back and says he can't find the title and YOU'LL need to file for a lost title politely inform him it is the OWNERS responsibility to file for a lost title. Usually just take the plate down to the DMV along with the VIN and the OWNER gets NEW title for a few bucks. Offer to take him to the DMV to get the title taken care of and if he starts to dance around the title subject, there may be a BIG problem..
Just my .02 cents of info!!!

If you pass tell him to ebay it and watch it go for more than 1000.. just cuz you dont want to pay that, dont mean it isnt worth it.
If you dont buy let Stu at it.. IK think its reasonable..
Add up what the tank, sidecover, pipes, seat tach speedo would go for, bet its more than a G-note..

eh?

It was titled in California, he just lost it. He is going to do some checking but with the VIN number and a record it should be no problem.

Will see.

he has to do the Title work...OK, I guess that's why he's holding onto his price; He Should STILL shovel all that mess away from the bike and fill the tires up so you can see what he has to offer.

He has done that since my last visit. He wanted to do that before I looked at it but I was free last week and stopped by.

It's all good. Going back today if time allows.

tt, if you do buy it are you going to keep it? or resell it for a good piece of change after you restore it...like you have on so many others :).I remember a nice one from back in the day..a Blue H2 that a guy bought from someone,it had the engine completely gone through and special ported w/ expansion chambers.Tommy went down on it at 85mph+...a tank slapper from a high speed wobble,he was road rashed all over but the bike came out OK;they were real flexible back then.He was still out riding it after he got out of the hospital..w/ shorts on ! believe it or not.He let me take it for a ride and I wouldn't go over 45 for an 1/8 mile ride....because of his experience.

Uncertain what I will do at this time.

I'm working on a CB 750 F purchase but quite frankly, I'm not as "hot" on one as I was. I'll try to get over there today as he has inflated the tires and washed it up a bit.

Need to look closer and see about the title. He said he thought it was titled in Arizona as they switched everything over so as not to pay the Non-Op tax California has.

Will see.

OK, no Arizona records. Going to try California. Only has a bill of sale.

I took a lot more pictures and this bike will need torn down to the frame. Everything, and I mean everything, is in need of repair. Inside of tank is awful.

At any rate still working on the deal. Here are some pictures.

Is that rust on the pipes or muck?  At least you'll get another 3 miles outta that front tyre.  :P
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

Both.

Everything is in need. I'm not saying it can't be done but I have seen complete running bikes on flea bay for $2500.00.

I'm afraid a bill of sale is all he has ever had. It becomes a parts bike. (to me) Still working on a purchase but he now knows the dilemma.

I would pass on it.

Oh yeah, I agree.

Will see what I can get it for but I'm glad he didn't take my original offer.

Toy - that would be an expensive rebuild. Parts are not as plentiful as our CB's.

Plus, that model is not as collectible/valuable as the H1.

What is the deal with all the Kaws not having titles??

I'm not sure how they were labeled but on the neck is H-1A. Engine number starts at 181.

All 500's had H1 designation. All 250' were S1's, 750's H2 etc.
