The part number is in there so you can search closer to home.
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

Honda still makes those plastic swing arm bushings. I just bought a set, they cost me about $60. Just carefully press or tap theM in with a rubber Mallet.

Well my ? Is would it work if I took it to a local fabrication shop and have them try and rig something up for bushings? I found these swingarm bushings but there 50$

 http://www.partsnmore.com/parts/honda/cb550/?filters%5Bcategory%5D=chassis&filters%5Bfitting%5D=custom
Honda man said I would have to send the swingarm to him and he would need to fit it and had a story on why. Said it could cost on the high side of 200$ ...that's not what I want to spend at all on these bushings. Would it be ok if I just bought a used one from eBay for 30$ and take the stuff of there??? Would that work or is there more to it then just doing that?

For 200 bucks the machine shop would likely turn you a set of brass bushings and install. What you need to do is give them the dimensions. I'm sure someone has a new set  they could  mic then draw dimensions for you.
what about that site that I posted ...if I bought those will it work out fine? Would I just tap them in?

Since those are brass, I wouldn't try to tap them in. Any local mechanic or machine shop could probably press those in for next to nothing. I would make sure that where the bushings press into is very clean and smooth before having them pressed. A good shop should do that anyway, but it's better to be sure.

Does 50$ sound like a good price for those? I'm just curious if anyone has tried to do some hardware store stuff on them for pennys on the dollar and have them work fine??? Or so you think this is what I have to get no questions asked? I will if I have to then.

I gotta ask...why would you need to remove the bushings before having the swingarm powdercoated?

Since I see you have the single zerk grease fitting is your swingarm the design that switched to steel bushings or are they brass?

I had Hondaman perform his magic on my swingarm before I powdercoated it, works like a charm.
Odds are if you have the single zerk and steel bushings you swingarm is mostly useless without a rebuild- grease would never make it to the bushings in your case.

I just took a drive to my Honda shop about hour away... They ordered the oem bushing and will install it for me. About 40$ total... That's not bad.

Anybody ever try these? Same part number for teh CBX as the 76 CB550. Pretty cheap for brass.

Lok at the SAE 841 bronze bearings here... http://www.mcmaster.com/#catalog/118/1126/=ghmxrs.  I know Hondaman likes the Oilite (oil impregnated) bearings and that's what these are.  If they carry the right size, they're a lot more affordable than those you linked to (roughly 1/5th of the price).  You just need to make sure they have all the same dimensions.  And make sure to order 2 of them (since they're sold individually).
