Picked up a 1977 CB 550F. Hopefully this site can get me some good information on getting this thing going.

My suggestion for uploading pix is to use Photobucket. Upload your pix there, click on the "img" link below the pix, paste it in your post. Simple and no resizing.

Whoa there is a picture up there. Not sure how I did that. Anyways, this seems like a heck of a forum, not even sure where to start.

Is there a good place to start for information on getting it just general road worthiness? What all I need to do, inspect, etc.

Jacob, you'll find a lot of discussion about getting an old bike roadworthy in the project threads, which are generally good reading anyway. A lot depends on where the bike has been stored and for how long.  Are you in wet eastern nebraska, or dry western nebraska?

Thanks Cowboy, I'll have to spend some time in that section. I'm from eastern, little less dry then western. I'm guessing there's a reason you asked that question?

Yeah, it I asked because climate can make a difference in the parts that need attention after a bike sits for a long time. Cars and bikes rust a whole lot less west of North Platte, but rubber parts dry out faster.

I also ask because I live just across the state line in eastern Wyoming.

Hey Jacob,
Glad to have another Nebraskan on the site. You gotta get the bike running so we can "escort" Godzilla thru Nebraska when the ride come thru the state later this year.
Let me know if you have some questions about your bike. 
Maybe we could ride a bit in Omaha, I live in Blair.

Just wanted to say thanks for the replies. I've got some more questions but I think I'll try going to an actual repair section rather then the introduction lol.
