Replacement Cam Tower Studs
« on: February 26, 2012, 07:17:22 pm »
Hi,
Looking at getting some replacement cam tower studs made in 12.9 tensile.

Is there an easier replacement?

Would anyone be interested in purchasing some for cost plus shipping. Based in Brisbane Australia . More people interested the lower the price.

Let me know if I have not posted in the appropriate place. Figured ones watching this space would be closest to the answer.

Cheers
Mic

If You can't fix it with a hammer, You've got an electrical problem.

Prob is not in the studs, imo, but in the thread in the aluminium head. You can use them but got to make sure you change the thread into helicoil or threaded bushings.

Better sorry for failing then for the lack of trying.

Hi Retro
Threads on a couple of my studs were ruined from po. Think the po took engine top end apart and butchered some of the studs with god knows what. Had to recoil some of the stud threads and decided new studs were best at the same time.
Had them machined up but as usual the more produced the cheaper they were.
So had about 8 (maybe 10 have to check) more done incase needed.
If anybody needs some happy to help for cost of postage. Not cheap to produce but happy to help someone on forum as this place has helped me w my project.
