Thanks Brian.  The class rules won't allow me to use an hydraulic clutch.  But this plate would make it a simple upgrade.  Going to see if there may be a market for it. ;)

Had quite a few road going chairs during my youth.
They where all based on Honda Fours.
Wouldn't go, wouldn't stop and wouldn't steer round corners.
They where great fun. ;D ;D ;D

Brian, I got a reply from Brent Hyde.  Building a 945 / 995 from the CB750F DOHC for the Fiddaman will work, and his guide & tensioners will fit the 750 cases.  Says my idea to use a CB1000 crank is a good one as it will give a better primary ratio.  Only issue now is dry sumping it.  He used RS1000 HRC parts; I figure they are rocking horse poo. :(  If the search for them proves useless, once I P/U the engine from Mike I'm going to see if I can adapt a car dry sump pump.

Sound's like a plan mate.
Give me a yell if you think I may be able to help with anything from this end.

On another matter.
I've decided to put a boy on.
Ev got a bit excited when I told her.
For awhile any way, till I explaned I was talking about the bike and the Vic. titles at Broardford. ;D

Cheers,

Don't let him get to comfortable, on the bike. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Does this mean you've decided to semi retire?  An SOHC Windle would fit nicely into my shop, beside a DOHC Fiddaman. ;)  The Yamaha will be finding a new home after this season.

Yep I think it does.

I've run it for a full season plus since the accident.
So I feel that I've proved to myself that I can still compete.

But really the bottom line is that it just takes to much out of me physically to campaign it for a full season.
So we will put another rider on it and I'll just cherry pick the good meetings. ;D

Except Phillip Island of course.
There's a rumor getting around that some hot shot Canadian rider might be coming over for that. ;D

Cheers,
Brian

So just got back from dropping off a couple of heads for the sidecar with Mike R.  Had a great visit, thanks for the hospitality Mike.  Saw the 'bat cave north' which has produced all those fantastic SOHC heads.  Unfortunately it now has a minor infestation of Yamaha. ;D ;D ;D ;D

Great meeting you Brian....some good stories swapped. The XS has rocker arms so the parts can live with all the CB stuff in a civil manner. ;)

Well they both use a SOHC, but the Honda cams may be a bit jealous of the XS's with it's ball bearings. ;) ;D ;D ;D ;D

Your engine looked great Brian. I've no doubt you'll be happy with Mikes work. It's not only the wealth of experience but everything is treated like it's his own. Well done fellas.

So I'm guessing you will be campaigning the whole season with this fresh rebuild.  Best of luck, have a great season, we'll see you on a track some where this year, I hope.

Not this year, was thinking about the Sidecar Festival @ Loudon in late June, but getting insurance is an issue. :(

Congrats to Brian for his heat race win today. He led most of the way but fell to 2nd two laps from the end. He made a nice pass on the brakes into the last turn for the win. Great tight race.
