Got to be another second plus in just being able to sit / steer from a better, less tiring  position, and brake consistently.  Would really like to have same frame, but lighter, with just a bit more front weight bias.  So, while this years results weren't great as far as points, the bike showed the potential to run up front, when it wanted too. >:(  I'll need to be in better shape to take advantage of it. ::) ;)

Easily mate.
If you are rejigging the bodywork, consider adding a couple of small wings on the seat area to lock your ass into place it makes a big difference.
It's also prudent to set up your seating position so that your body weight is supported by both your ass and your knees.
The bias is a source of much argument down here but I subscribe to the theory that your ass should take the bulk of the load but you need to be able to put all of your weight on your knees to move your body weight around when required.

So............where's my video? :) :)

Cheers,
Brian

Would be basically the same frame Brian, just with some 'updates', and much lighter.  Want to be able to move everything over, and just bolt it on.  May happen, may not, will depend on the $'s involved.

Agree with your points on a seat re-contour.  One of the 'updates' is to lower the knee trays (get more 'in, than 'on'), so a new seat will be needed anyway.  I also need to move the bar/grip position back to take stress off my back/shoulders.  Thinking of going to a more vertical grip position (like modern F1/2's), and may try a thumb throttle.

I'm getting to much front end lift under hard braking.  Need to sort that out as it's causing too much trail change, and the front wheel to lock.  Think it has to do with the brake caliper mounting(s).

Yep, I think your on the right track mate.
We try to mount the front caliper as close to the horizontal line between axle and pivot piont as possible.
That usually means mounting it to the swing arm.
It may not be an option with that the caliper you are using at the moment.

We use 08 Brembos on ours and they do the job very well.
There are plenty of them around, their cheap,  parts are easy to get and there is a lot pad compounds to choose from.

Cheers,
Brian.

I've been checking out pictures of 16" sidecars racing with CMRC in the UK Brian.  Fairly certain the issue relates to how the caliper is mounted in relation to the swing arm pivot.  Lots of time till the next race to sort it out (7 months ::)).

Not that particular unit Brian.
There a few getting around.
Historic Speedway has become quite popular down here.
I still get the occasional phone call enquiring about on of my old bikes.

Cheers,
Brian

Hey Brian,

Pull yourself out from underneath that snow drift.  ;D
It'll be race season before you know it.

How are the mods going?

Cheers,
Brian

Not much progress yet Brian, as the bike was in the club display at the bike show in Toronto last week.  Had removed bodywork, drained oil and fuel, was getting ready to pull engine.  Re-installed bodywork for the show.  It's home again so I start the process again. ::)

I'd love to own a vintage P2 sidecar exactly like yours but I never see them offered for sale or they are gone by the time I contact the seller.  I was excited to see that someone is offering plans for building the chassis.  If you wouldn't mind, could you email me his address?  I sure would appreciate it.
