Looks like you have a piece of history here.
It is an early model 1911 (not an A1)

its tough to even get a rifle here in aus now,in the late 70s to 80s though i had rifles,a hand gun was just too hard to get a licence for,i had a nice aunschuzt 22lr semi auto carbine,a 1919 lee enfield 303,a mossberg 12 g pump,laurona 12 g side x side,even a savage 22lr semi auto,,the ruger 22 rotary mag was a popular rifle,pistols were always a wet dream,if you even get caught here with ammo your a crim now!
