cb750 stator rewind

been looking at this option for a while.  Just got an email back from place in Alabama that says he can rewind my core stator in the DELTA configuration........but he thinks it will screw up the polarity of the stator.  The OEM windings are WYE configured.   The DELTA would produce more more output current over a broader rpm range.  Anyone know for sure on this polarity issue?

I have never heard of switching a motorcycle stator from "Y" to Delta, so I'm curious as to whether it improves output.  The business about polarity doesn't seem right, since the output of the stator is AC, and has no true polarity.  Your rectifier is a full wave configuration, so polarity wouldn't matter anyway.  I would say go for it, but you might want to verify that " stator polarity" was the actual concern.

You might want to try a 750A field coil for higher output. 290W vs 225W. Only difference is smaller gauge/larger wire windings with less resistance. Stators appear to be the same.

Very unusual for a stator to go bad.... are you sure that's the issue or was the left-hand cover damaged in a 'spill' ?
BTW... if that's the same guy in AL that rewound my DOHC rotor ( He's on E-Bay, right? ) be ready for 2 months turnaround with 0 communication from him, or you might get it back in 2 weeks, very erratic in his business IMO....

cant find the post now..it was over on the naked goldwings forum.  they rewound a wye stator aws a delta and it increased the output significantly.  Have to look into the 750A stators.

Not 750A STATOR - the stators appear to be the same with the same resistance. It's the 750A FIELD COIL that is different.
