I'd go for the 17. or so electronic flasher....replaced on all of my bikes...and no problems. (the mechanical ones depend on having enough juice in the system to heat the bimetalic strip to break the contact and so forth.  The electronic ones work down to about 9 volts or so...and are pretty constant in their action (ie same speed
whether idling or full tilt boogie...

I have the electronic flasher from Autozone and it worked no problem....forget which one I bought but I seem to recall it may have said 12V on it or something like that. Works great. Good luck,

Someone in another post "sorry. couldn't find it again" put up this link as a solution to after market signal blinking problems.
Light goes on, but no blinky............
I had tried different bulbs with no success.

I bought one of these  http://www.customled.com/PRODUCTS/FLASHER_RELAY/flasher_relay.htm for $19.99

Hooked it up to the 750 and now have working signals.
Thanks to who ever put up the link. Just ordered another one for the CL350.

This electronic flasher will work.

Tridon Stant 12 volt 3 terminal electronic flasher EP35.

It is a 3-prong.  I did blow the main a couple of times until I got it hooked up right.

When I got my '76 CB750, the guy I bought it from had mounted new blinkers, but they still didn't work. I replaced the flasher, but no dice. Normally, I believe the lights are supposed to be grounded to the frame by mounting. There was only one wire coming from the blinker. when we hooked that to the proper hot inside the headlight, it came on but didn't flash. We ended up running a separate wire to ground it to the frame (ran a wire from the pivot bolt inside of the headlight to a mounting bolt on the speedometer, then hooked the blinker ground to that) to make sure the light was grounded. Then it worked!
All this backyard engineering is why each of our bikes are unique. Regardless of whether our solution was right, doesn't really matter. It was a ground problem, and we grounded it!

If the turn signals are staying lit, you have a ground problem. If they are not lighting at all you may have another lighting problem. Check that you have 12V going to that flasher. You can do that with a meter, or you can use a bulb and two wires.

I'll agree with the other guys --- Ground problem --- I haven't got mine on the road yet, but I'm making everything safe.  I got a new -used- horn for it , didn't work, ground problem. Cleared that up, then the blinkers wouldn't work, ground problem.  My bike has a ground wire attached to each side of the headlight pivot bolts. I cut both wires and ran them to the frame, Fixed it.

On my 550, I have 2 wires from each rear turn signal - hot & ground.  Three on each front, turn, running & ground.  My grounding is thru wires, not the mount.

You do not have to go crazy looking for a ground, any part of the frame will do. Just not a part that is rubber mounted.  ;D

hm may have to try a different flasher. mine is slow at ideal or slow speed but normal at faster rpm's .I am using some trailer lights on my side bags so I have three tail and brake lights with three running light . using a stander old trailer light three way bulb with a cheapo flasher from Kragens . I did have to also install a light converter to run all the light it is a set up for pulling trailers when tow has separate run, brake and turns and the trailer has the two way bulbs . it has worked for years  just really slow and dim during the day

Guys, you keep mentioning 2 prong relays, but I am confused because all the wiring digrams form my bike (a cb550) show three wires, a gray, black, and green wire going to the relay.  I am in the process of rewiring my bike and bought a new electrical panel off ebay.  It actually came with a 2 prong relay, with the green wire just hanging loose, is this acceptable?  I just figured it had the wrong relay.

The electrolyte fluid in your battery is prone to a mild boil in any case.  Just listen closely sometime when it is on the charger.  A cracked battery should be replaced IMMEDIATELY in my humble opinion.

BTW, I use the cheapy auto parts flasher relay (DOT 552?) on my K8 with no problems.

I don't think he's listening.  He posted that almost a year ago and hasn't been around since.

Is that the 2-prong electronic flasher?? I need one on my bike, I think...my signals are very slow...and my inspection is due within 10 days...   :P

To all, its ok to use a 2 prong relay and leave the green dangling!

The green is the ground for the UK type flasher from Honda that costs £40 ($80) YEP THATS RIGHT
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).

my diagram (750 K6) shows that green wire near the turn signal blinker, but not connected to anything.  I believe it's a spare ground.
