Hello From Dallas
« on: February 03, 2012, 06:08:10 PM »
Hey Everyone,

Well the CB bug bit me a while back and wasn't able to shake it. I have a buddy that was wanting to sell his CB750 and what do you know I am now the proud owner of it. I've never owned a bike before so I'm pretty excited I was able to score such a cool one for my first. Look forward to the forum guys already scored pretty big from one of the guys on here so looking good so far!

Yup, what he said.
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

Thanks guys. You are right that pic was before we tore into it. I got it from my buddy and sent it straight to the shop so I've ridden it for about 15 minutes so far, ha. Right now just picture it w/ the tank off and the top of the motor missing. Hopefully soon enough it will be back in one piece and I can get to enjoying the riding side of it rather than the typing side of it.  :)

Are you going to leave the astronaut riding past the moon on the tank?

Man I go back and forth on it sometimes but for now I'm going to leave him on there. It's too cool for me to just get rid of it until I really have some time to either let it grow on me or for me to realize I want to get rid of him. I wonder what the story is on the guy that had that painted on there. It'd be interesting to hear how he came up w/ that.

I actually talked to the guys working on it yesterday and they said they are starting on it first thing next week. Hopefully it will be ready to rock and roll by the next weekend. That would be sweet.

I was wondering about what the story was as well. It reminded me of the opening scene in heavy metal, but then the side covers had crazy art as well!

That's crazy haven't seen that movie in forever and just watched the beginning of it for that scene. That is wild its so close to that just need a little editing and the bike could be the scene. Cut out old vette, insert old bike!

I may be down for the hill country ride. I think the rockers and mods thing here in dallas may be on the same weekend so looks like I'll have to make a choice. Thanks for the invite I'll keep you posted.

Take care,
Richard
