Stumpo - were you happy with the quality and service from the seat cover vendor in Thailand? I've been looking at the same thing for my 400F but was a little wary of the source. Is this the same one you bought?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/HONDA-CB400-F-CB400F-FOUR-1975-1977-SEAT-COVER-HCAE-/170737372145?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item27c0bd8bf1&vxp=mtr#shId

By the way, I visited your beautiful country last fall. 2 weeks in southern Italy and Sicily. Best vacation ever.

yes the ebayer is the same one but i paid less for mine...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/HONDA-CB400-F-CB400F-FOUR-1975-1977-SEAT-COVER-HCAE-/180735485566?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item2a14aca67e

the quality of the cover is great... have plastic on the underside as original, same exact design as original... light grey HONDA writing on the back, everything is included but the studs they gave are a bit different from the honda stock ones but looks good nontheless, fast shipping too...

nice product in my opinion and my upholster guy too ;)

There is no way to clean  carbs that gummed up unless they are taken apart. Do it once correctly and you should not have to do it again...Larry

With the fenders, I cut mine based off where I thought it would look 'right' then used the cut off end as a template to make sure the curve was nice.

As for those carbs... You really need to strip them and rebuild them, they're dirtier than most I've seen. The choke butterflys appear to be gummed up or rusted which I've not seen before. Given the problems cause by dirty carbs and the hassle it is to remove them, I'd do it right now. Get as many OEM parts as you can (the Keyster kits have a terrible reputation) and save yourself the pain.

It's look good mate.

Rick.

already dismantled them and cleaned the carbs...

the red stuff you see on the choke butterfly was only red gasoline, not rusted up at all fortunately

Thought you couldn't shorten the rear fender? (per Italian law?)

the plate must be mounted in the original place and with only few degrees of inclination according to the law, so i can cut the rear fender as long as i have space to attach the plate to it.

P.S. no one can tell me the purpose of the broken carb tube in the pics... any suggestion?

ahaha, yes it runs now but still on 3 cylinders...

i finished my exams yesterday so i still hadn't the time to check the engine compression and such thing... i think it have a bent valve...

i have a question for you guys... i changed my blinkers, the do work but they're always on and don't flash... but if i try to use just one aftermarket signal and a stock one they'll work flawlessly... even if i try to use two aftermaket blinkers and a stock one toghter on one side they work good and flash faster...

wich is the problem? do i have to use a resistence plugged in series with the blinker?

If the new blinkers are LED you need an electronic flasher...Larry
