Can you identify the bike in this photo?

I just found this photo of my Mom and Dad but can't identify the make or year of the bike.  Harley?

After a quick search, it appears to be an early to mid 40's HD Knucklehead.

It has to be post 1945, Harley made no bikes for public use during the war years, 100% of their production went to the military.
